very convieient for rail and bus to airport. Bus and tram costs are included in hotel bookings made before arrival. The hotel is an add on to another hotel the Eular. Work is current and you had to past through the area of plasterers and electrical cables. However the rooms were clean and a reasonable price but small. OK for a couple of nights on business. Might be better when work has finished. Meals and other services are 4 star prices as they are in the Eular. |

Too brief a visit to form opinion! On arrival a deposit was requested (in case of breakage, making phone calls or helping yourself to the minibar without paying). This was not clearly stated at time of booking. Furthermore, a deposit for a minibar which did not exist appeared rather inappropriate! |

great location for my visit room was supposedly non smoking but the smell of cigarette smoke was quite consistently coming through either the vents or from other rooms. there was also no lift for the last two flights of stairs which was difficult with luggage. also, hotel room was accessed via a different foyer and then a walk through this construction site area, which i didn't mind except for having to walk past extremely loud power tools to get to my room. |

Easy walk from train station, very clean and comfortable. Checkin is in another hotel and had to walk through the middle of renovation work to get to the lift which only runs to the 1st floor (US 2nd floor) |

Price was right, needed help with getting into the hotel and later with computer-hotel guy was extremely helpful and accomodating. Breakfast was just right. I arrived at 5:30 and was thrown by the fact that there was nobody there to check in with-it turned out to be less complicated than I made it. |

Small room and bathroom but very clean. Not too many facilities in the room but taking into account the price for a Swiss hotel, it was fair. Close to train station. You need to reach the room by a complicated route , passing close to kitchen. No elevator for all floors, so heavy luggage is difficult to be carried if having one. Entrance and reception through 4* Euler hotel and this is not advertised on place (had the luck to read it on Booking site, travelers' comments). |

The room was comfortable and decorated nicely. Yes! The non-smoking floor is above the smoking floor so all of the smoke from the floor below comes up through the bathroom on the the 3rd floor. All of the towels smelled like smoke. It was really disgusting. |

The staff was very helpful and spoke excellent English. The bus to the airport was very convenient and they gave us a free bus pass. The hotel is only steps from the central train station. There was no elevator to the floor we stayed on and we had very heavy suitcases. We were also a bit concerned about egress in the event of a fire in the hotel. |

It was close to the train station Hard to get into, you have to go throught the service area of another hotel to get in and out. Smoking rooms nearby vented into the room so it was like you were smoking yourself, not pleasant since we were non smoking guests. Very pricey for very basic accomodation |

Close to Basel main station. The hotel is connected through a maze of stairs to its expensive luxury hotel Auriel and the pictures at bookings.com are shown of this expensive hotel and not Central Hotel. I felt I was misled and didn't realize the switch until it was too late. |

The location is excellent to ensure a quick getaway, and the rate was good for basel. The room was listed as non smoking, but it was quite smoky smelling, as was the entire hotel. |

Great position since it is close to the railway station and it it weell served by public transport to and from city center. The hotel is high quality but you can find also cheap rooms. Breakfast not include (and somewhat expensive). Noisy surroundings. Not all rooms can be reached by elevator |

As I said earlier it is a convenient place to stay as all forms of transportation are close by. Well, I am American and am used to air conditioning. This did not bother me before as I had stayed at the Hotel Central in a previous fall, but this stay just so happened to be during a heat wave in Basel, so it was a bit difficult to sleep in such heat. They should install ceiling fans for such nights. |
