A great place to stay in the best village to visit! Carol, who manages, is always there to give suggestions and suggest activities. Very comfortable and a great spot at the end of the day. Very relaxing and full of happy people.
Internet was difficult at times due to weak wifi
Location Price Staff Breakfast Comfort
Carol is a gem. Our room looked out on the falls and was just perfect. Breakfast was wonderful. We had fun getting to know not only Carol the inn keeper but out guests. The location was great. Easy to get to the train. Can't say enough for this place.
View of waterfall from room, comfortable accommodation, friendly & knowledgable hostess.
The "quaintness" of the Chalet and Carol's desire to meet her guests' needs made this a lovely experience for us.
Wifi was very bad. If you are depending on wireless internet service while here, you will be disappointed.
Great location. Carol is wonderful and makes great scrambled eggs!
Carol is a very Friendly and warm host, she makes sure we are well fed and takes care of the entire chalet herself with zero help from anyone else! She sure is a busy woman but she finds time to catch a chat with her guests every now and then :) Recommended to others for sure!
We liked the location of the Chalet. The hotel or rather Chalet is correct but rather basic without a designated reception area. It felt more as being welcomed to your proper room in a family home in a Chalet than to a hotel.
We did miss a proper reception area and a warm feeling in the coomon room. There was a fire place but no sign of it being used for the welcoming of hotel guests. The breakfast room is rather small and the breakfast sufficient without being something special. We could not pay with credit card but with cash.
The location is very reasonable to cable cars, bus, train, restaurants and walks/activities. The mini fridge in the common area was helpful to refrigerate snack foods for our planned hikes to help reduce crazy Swiss cost of food! Carol, mgr of chalet, is very helpful and friendly in sharing information on food/hikes, and arranging activities. It was a real pleasure for us to stay there, eat breakfast & socialize with other travelers, and explore the area beyond Lauterbrunnen. We would definitely return.
One tiny down side was the towels smelled a little moldy by the third day of use. If we weren't leaving then, I definitely would have simply asked for new ones.
Centrally located, close to transport, Carol is great and very helpful. Breakfast was very filling. Beautiful views of the waterfall and mountains from the room.
WIFi was not the best.
It's about 10 mins walk away from the train station.
Location, staff, security,lovely
Very friendly staff. Great location. Beautiful views
Location and view were excellent. Owner friendly; nice rooms and quality breakfast.
Wifi was almost non existent except for a small bench seat in the front hallway near entrance. Payment must be in cash; no cards accepted.
Host Ambience Modern Immaculate
Nicely modernized vintage building. Very clean. Great breakfast. Good value. Manager,Carol, was very helpful. Be aware there are no taxis and bus does not stop real close so you have to carry luggage 1/4 to 1/2 mile. Most other hotels are not much closer. I highly recommend it.
All is great except the walk.
-View of waterfall out window of room. -Breakfast. -Hostess was very helpful.
-Located near only pub in town, which can be loud at night.
The great sized family room and easy access (no need to climb any stairs). The super yummy breakfast. The really welcoming host Carol. The gorgeous location near the spectacular waterfall.
Nothing - loved everything! Just a note to ensure people are aware that the checkin is only from 4pm. We didn't notice when we made the booking (although it was in the details) so we arrived earlier and no one was there.
The hotel is very clean and nicely located in the village of Lauterbrunnen. Easy parking possibilities at walking distance. Rooms are very clean.
Overall we thought the hotel is overpriced. After all facilities are rather basic: wifi is very slow and only working on the ground floor, rooms are without televison, bath rooms don't have anything like soap or shampoo, breakfast is simple, rooms are small and don't have a fridge. Rooms on the backside can suffer from the noisy bar during the night. We also thought it was really strange to have to pay a 20SFR deposit to use a hair dryer. Charging 130€ per night and only accepting cash is not ok either.
nicely updated hotel. very clean. great breakfast. manager, Carol, was very helpful. be aware that it is about one-fourth mile from the train station, there are no taxis and the bus that runs every half hour does not stop real close to the chalet. we enjoyed our stay here.
The staff was exceptional, very welcoming and helpful. We were very comfortable at Chalet Rosa on all accounts. We will definitely return.
Location was very nice. Breakfast was adequate and in close quarters so you could meet the other guests but could be improved upon.
Some amenities were lacking. I only compare it to the hotel across the street. It would be nice if a book of menus from restaurants in the area was available for consideration. It was nice when were able to check out the menus in a book to consider our next restaurant. Flat sheets on the bed are always nice, but this hotel was the same as all the hotels in Europe. Flat sheets are nice to have when you are too hot to use a duvet and cover.
Comfortable with great view.
Need to improve on their WIFI as it cannot be accessed from the room. Would also like suggest to have some hot dishes for breakfast
Comfortable beds, breakfast was simple but filling enough. Small communal refrigerator provided for small personal food items. B&B manager, Carol, is very knowledgeable and helpful with helping you plan a daily trip. If she and her staff are present, they are willing to heat up water for you upon request.
Check-in was a bit disorganized as the door was locked and no staff were to be seen for the first 5-10 minutes of our arrival. However, this was ironed out. Wifi signal is only decent in the downstairs hallway, dining room, and bedrooms in the addition (no fault of the manager due to the materials of the chalet). Breakfast room is tight fitting if there are many guests in there at the same time. No coffee, tea, or other beverages upon arrival or in the evening as might be expected at a B&B. Make sure you bring ALL of your own toiletries as none but only 1 small piece of soap is provided. Towels, if not changed daily, tend to remain damp until the next day.
English speaking host, good breakfast
