Christiania Hotels & Spa  

Despite the size of the hotel, one was made to feel extremely welcome:e.g. free wifi access in the rooms, free breakfast - which was a generous buffet, free taxi service to and from the train station, free access to the spa and pool facilities with complimentary bathrobe and towels, etc. And, upon leaving, each guest receives a personal goodbye and best wishes from the manager. In addition, the rooms were gracious and comfortable, and it was evident that staff would pop in during the day to empty the trash or turn down the sheets for the night. Altogether an enchanting experience.

The fact that they have to close in October for a break before the winter season. and the fact that the rates are perhaps not always as reasonable at other times of the year, sadly for me!

I was quite surprised with this hotel, very nicely located just a few yards from the city center with perfect view to the Matterhorn from my room; Very friendly and polite staff gave me the feeling I was welcome, specially, I appreciate the waitresses friendly smiles and attention, and the flexibility shown at changing the menu arrangement for my vegetarian companion. The Spa area was large, nicely clean and modern, great for relaxing. If you visit Zermatt, would recommend you to stay at this hotel.

If I go back to Zermatt I will stay in The Christiania. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Pool spa & leisure facilities excellent. The food was excellent & the staff could not have been more helpful.

The hotel is perfectly located in quiet surroundings a couple of hundred meters from central Zermatt, close to Sunegga bahn and ski busses. The rooms are very comfortable, many roooms have a grand view of the village and Matterhorn. The very attentive service, in the dining room and in the rest of the hotel, that makes you feel special is perfectly balanced with a twinkle in the eye and a " what can I do for you, mate" attitude. The food is delicious whith that attention to details that is so important. I will certainly try to book here next time I return to Zermatt.

The steam room with its colored lights was fantastic as was the private loft to relax in above the pool.

Wish the bubbling pool was warmer then the pool.

The room is clean and the facilities is good. The location is also good for city trip because close to the Zermatt Station, and the hotel has provide a shuttle bus from the Station to hotel.

The hotel was perfect for our holiday in Zermatt. Our room with a balcony had fantastic views of the Matterhorn, as did the restaurant and the swimming pool. The hotel can arrange to pick you up at the train station which we were unaware of when we arrived. It was terrific to swim in the heated pool and finish in the spa after spending the day doing the tourist things. Being away from the main street was a bonus as there was no noise and the room was very quiet. The staff were excellent and helpful with a good command of English although I understand that German is the main language. We would certainly recommend this hotel.

We found the restaurant menu to be lacking in choices and a tad expensive. The menu offered no more than those in Zermatt which was disappointing given that the hotel was excellent. Maybe that is just Switzerland.

Very good level of service (flexibility regarding breakfast time, suggestion to take care of the luggage). Warm welcome.
