friendly staff, room with view to the Castello Grande, good value for money
Great location and very helpful staff. Good breakfast
1. staff members are very friendly and helpful 2. breakfast is good 3. the view of the room is very good 4. easy to find the hotel
You said the price of CHF 160 per night was a Value deal. It was not... it was the rack rate. And pretty expensive (even by Swiss standards) for the quality offered.
Very nice welcome and service.
No elevator, skimpy breakfast, cold eggs
The staff were excellent & got us organised with maps etc to visit the castles. The room was spacious & beds comfortable. It was right in the middle of town about 300 m from the station. The breakfast was good & even made cappuccinos. When checking don't do it on a Saturday or Sunday morning as the staff also serve in the restaurant & breakfast is a busy time.
All was good.
Nice staff, perfect location with nice view over the castle.
A good location in the center of the old town. A very short walk to the two larger castles. Restaurant serves a range of good food at reasonable (by Swiss standards!) prices.
The restaurant downstairs. Friendly staff.
The location within walking distance of the train station and major tourist attractions
No lift (vertical transport)
Good service and breakfast. Beautiful room.
No hot water and refrigerator in the room.
Staff were very friendly and very helpful - nice atmosphere.
- just 2 minutes away from Castelgrande - just 5 minutes away from train station "Bellinzona" - breakfast ok - risotto dish in restaurant
- small rooms and shower - no complementary soap/shower gel/shampoo - old facilities - fish dish in restaurant
All staff were extremely friendly and hardworking. They dealt well across language barriers. Hotel is in a pedestrian zone'but access for luggage is easy. Close to the train station, just across from the lift up to Castlegrande. Good restaurant with reasonable prices and views of 2 castles. We also enjoyed our balcony.
The hotel is located in a very central location and has stile.
location restaurant staff is very helpful
Location was excellent. 5-10 minute walk from the train station, literally 1 minute walk to Castelgrande, and very close to Castello di Montebello. (We arrived by train and walked up to Castello di Montebello, about 15-20 minute walk on an extremely hot day...) It's also right in the middle of quite a few restaurants and shops. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Some spoke English and some didn't, but they got the job done with our check in and out etc. Room was very clean. It was small, but worked great for us. We had a quadruple room - one queen size bed and a bunk bed. It was just me and my kids (age 10 and 13), if my husband had been there too, it might have been a bit tight. We had an excellent view - the Castelgrande was practically right outside the window. (Our room was on the front side of the hotel.) WiFi worked great and we had no trouble getting on. Restaurant wasn't bad. Nothing spectacular for dinner but I'd probably eat at the restaurant again if I went back. My tuna steak was way overcooked, but my daughter's dinner was very good. Breakfast was a simple but good buffet.
It was pretty stripped down. I had to unplug the side table lights to charge our phones because there weren't any other outlets. No air conditioning, which was a little uncomfortable on such a hot night, but there was a small (non-oscillating) desk fan and we cracked the window so it was ok. But, we're pretty easy-going with heat; I can imagine my elderly in-laws would have been completely miserable. The bathroom had towels, toilet paper, liquid soap dispensers, and a hairdryer, and that was it. No shampoo/conditioner or other amenities. Would have been nice to know that ahead of time. At 220 CHF, I think it was a bit overpriced for what we got. The only reason I'm not steaming about it is that we booked at the last minute at the height of vacation season and hardly any 3-person rooms were available anywhere, the location really was excellent, and it was very clean.
The location and the restaurant.
The size of the room was incredibly small
- Modest hotel with friendly personnel - Centrally located - Pizzeria within the hotel
- Not all employees are multilingual
