Hôtel de la Paix Lausanne  

Mycket trevligt hotell, inte så stort, lugn fin miljö både i receptionen, rummet och i restaurangen. Fantastisk, service mainded personal. God mat i hotellets restaurang. Fin utsikt. Bra läge och smidigt med ett "free transportation card" till metron och bussar.

Frukosten motsvarade inte den i övrigt höga standard hotellet har.

I had many times previously stayed at this hotel, expecting to have the same pleasant experience as in the past, I went ahead and booked my room, but upon arriving I was surprisingly disapointed.I had asked for a non smoking room, and upon entering the room there was a stale odour of smoking in the room, called the reception and they asked me to open the windows. Having done that, I later realised that the air conditioning was not functioning properly. Again I called the reception and they sent some one to fix it, and they said that it is now working. After about four hours, when I returned to the room, the horrible smell of cigarette was still there and still the airconditioning was not working. Eventually I ended up in another room with no balcony, two floors above, and through out the night I could hear peaple talking loudly when passing by my room, and there was a lot of people coming in or going out of the elevator, ( my room was facing the elevator ) To top it all up the sink in the bathroom was blocked, but I didn't even want to tell reception, because I myself couldn't believe how many things had gone wrong, and it felt like I was constantly nagging & trying to find faults. So all in all I had a nasty experience.

The location (smack downtown Lausanne) and the beautiful view on Lac Leman

1) Room:excellent;clean spacious room with lovely lake view. 2) food: in restaurant at dinner was very good and service excellent. wine waiter not very knowledgeable 3) bar: (pre-dinner): quiet but good barman & friendly.

1) Front desk not very smart and not always very helpful - especially one gentleman. 2) when i asked to use computer at business centre to use printer, the front desk clerk though not busy did not move but rang for a doorman & we waited 10 minutes (very poor service -reaction) 3) in room there are electric boiler & cups for tea & coffee but no milk nor even a small biscuit (unlike last time)!!

Room very clean, with lovely views over lake and very close to commercial centre. Our cleaner was very helpful and went out of her way to provide us with alternative bedding (see below).

Staff neither friendly nor welcoming and of limited helpfulness. Room safe not working and staff unable to repair it during our 2-day stay. Room overheated yet bed made up with a very warm duvet: duvets were developed for use in cold environments, not in tropically-heated hotel rooms. Breakfast buffet, though adequate, rather disappointing for a 4 star hotel: limited choices.

Helpful staff and location was perfect for us

This is a beautiful hotel. We chose it because we needed a triple room, but were given an upgrade to a suite on arrival. It was a fabulous room, nicely appointed and spotless. The view of the lake is great! Staff was friendly, helpful, and breakfast was fresh and substantial. Location is great, too. Easy access to walking/shopping district. We were given passes for the public transportation system which we didn't use because of our short stay. We will be back!

Great location.

I arrived at the hotel early, and there was absolutely no problem putting me in my room. That made a very good first impression. The room was very quiet and breakfast was very well done (included in the room price). My experience with the staff was uniformly favorable. I would highly recommend this hotel for leisure or business travel.
