Good location.

No English spoken and hostess seemed uninterested and generally unhelpful. Room was cramped. Wifi was not functional.

A friendly, family run hotel with easy access to the Grand Piazza, shops and lake shore. Grand dining room for breakfast and restaurant on ground floor for evening meals . I'm a return visitor.

closed to center..

rude and impolite workers, recepcionists, cold rooms, un cooperated authorized persons..I really do not like this hotel...

It's really good located on the central part of the famous city close to the lake and Casio. The guys at the reception speck well English French, Italian and German.

Excellent location, which is in the town centre. We arrived Locarno by train and it only took a short time to walk to the hotel. Local bus stops nearby. We booked two rooms for a total of 7 people and our rooms were huge. Decoration was great. Strong wi-fi signal, unlike most other hotels. Breakfast was fair. Plenty of activities, shops and restaurants around.

Central Location.

The price and the size of the rooms were nice. The location of the hotel was great right in downtown. Although parking was charged in additon, it wasn,t too expensive. Wifi was free.

The decor was tasteless and the service people seemed bothered by having to helpl us.

Friendly staff, nice big bed, good sized room, decent breakfast and for 100 chf for two people for one night a good price for a Swiss hotel.

The location which into the city centreis the only thing I liked of this hotel

The room is clean but not very comfortable, the service is poor, same for breakfast, plus the staff is totally unfriendly and unhelpful, I would say they are rude. Plus, they even tried to steal our umbrella in a awfully rainy week end. I wouldn't recommend this place!!!!

I think it is an only one hotel in Locarno which has a cucina calda opened till 1am in November. Excilent food just on Piazza Grande. Otherwise hotel, good Swiss standard. Very convinient parking Castello.

Good value for money

Large room, enough space for a whole family. Free Wifi access. Terrace at the roof floor (4th floor) with view on the Piazza Grande. Situated at the heart of the city (Piazza Grande). Must be one of the best locations during the Locarno film festival ?

Parking seems to be complicated

The proprietor was very helpful and friendly. He changed our room to a quieter one at no extra charge after we experienced a very noisy first night.

Front room facing Piazza Grande is very noisy up until 11 pm at night and there is no air-conditioning to cut out noise pollution.

We had a large room on the 4th floor with access to the large balcony. The bed was comfortable. We had substantial discount on the room so felt we had a good price.

The noise other guests make when they leave early in the morning. There should be signs up telling people to keep the noise down as other guests might be sleeping! We also didn't like the fact that 2 people sat directly outside our french windows on the balcony, smoking. They did not seem aware that we were in our room and it was an invasion of privacy and cigarette smoke drifted into our room. Again, it would be better if there were signs to remind people that guests might be in their rooms and not appreciate this. Finally, the receptionist was very nice, but on more than one occasion when we have stayed with you, she seems to carry on conversations with other members of staff and ignores the customers waiting (ourselves included!). She carries on chatting and seems in no hurry to book people in or out. This could be deemed as quite rude. Thank you

This is a lovely hotel with a sophisticated old-world charm. The common areas are beautifully renovated with antiques and offer a quiet relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are simple, very clean, and comfortable. The breakfast included a buffet offering a very good selection of fresh breads, meats, cheeses, fruits etc. The hotel is directly on the Piazza Grande, the main town square, where shopping is excellent and many local and international music, film, and other events are held throughout the year. The hotel is approximately 7 minutes from the train station and easy to find (just walk along the Via della Stazione to the street called Largo Zorzi, which will take you to the Piazza Grande - the hotel is just past the Coop store). The lakefront and many excellent restaurants are within a five to ten minute walk. I would return to this hotel again without hesitation.

Only one caution for those who are light sleepers, I would suggest closing the windows of your room at night because the sound of voices from the small streets and the Piazza Grande echo a bit. The windows however are very well insulated, so when closed, the room is quiet.

Rooms were fine, if somewhat small. Staff friendly and helpful. Good hotel for staying one night in on your way to Italy.

The hotel is in the city centre, which is noisy on the Friday night we were there.

It has character

It is noisy (the ceiling and floor creaks) and smelly (they use deodorants), and requires a facelift here and there. It is overpriced, for the same 120 euros a night I could stay at the four star hotel Bristol next door.

We liked the hotel. It was clean and in a great location.
