Hôtel du Cheval-Blanc  

A spotlessly clean, well decorated room in a beautiful old building, The back of the hotel looks like a medieval building and I had to climb spiral stairs to reach my room. But the room and, in particular, the ensuite bathroom were absolutely up-to-date. A fabulous view out on to Lake Neuchatel. The train station is very close and the train took just ten minutes to get into the centre of Neuchatel, which was the reason for my visit. The hotel was looked after by a lovely couple - very relaxed - and a nice continental breakfast in the morning. I am glad I chose to stay here rather than in the centre of the city. Very tranquil.

Room was clean, but a bit cold, included breakfast was very basic, but ok Free wifi worked well Hotel's location is very good for Neuchatel and the surrounding area

The building possesses a definite, distinctive character, 'pittoresque', with a whole 1700s and 1800s themed decoration: drawings, carvings, even furniture (recent but 'in style') all is very nice, and enjoyable. The tv set is modern and offers many tv channels in different languages (though apparently not satellite tv)The breakfast was good (ok for some parts, really nice for others) The parking is small, but I believe in accordance to the number of rooms. The room was positively huge (for three persons, vast, with a vast bathroom and hallway). The windows are really 100% soundproof (or close) so despite a very close big road and train tracks (we can't open the windows because of the noise!) it's quiet, when windows closed.

There was no hot water in the evening: so for arrival day, it's a bit unpleasant. Similarly, the hotel, possessing as an asset a beautiful character (historic building, with decoration, and a tower- actual real turret as staircases) has also the inconvenients of such an old structure: many mosquitoes because near 'un lavoir' and fountain-like basin of a watermill, very damp tower and hallways (not damp and 100% clean and good-smelling in the room, though, very nice point!), and with open windows, it's too noisy (closed windows and phonic insulation is perfect) The breakfast 'only ok' -no ovomaltine, a pity in Switzerland, really.

Very pleasant staff, wonderful old building with all modern fixtures in the room. I cannot remember when I slept so well in a hotel bed. Excellent coffee etc for breakfast. Close to a very beautiful part of the lake, just a stroll along the lakefront away from the Laténium museum park (a must-see). Easy travelling to Neuchatel by train (or bus).

No elevator, no phone in the room, and very noisy bell church that bells every 15 minutes - Not letting us sleep.

The word that spring to mind is character. This is an old and very traditional Swiss building that has been very recently updated to give good hotel facilities. It has a lot of stairs to climb and the quirks you expect in traditional buildings - they go with the territory. The refurbished rooms are comfortable and my shower / wet room was especially good. Parking (limited space) is right outside the door and the hotel in in the centre of St Blaise. Is quiet too if you don't mind the church clock chiming.

Plenty of stair climbing. No real reception area - its hard to find your way in. The restaurant attached to the hotel was not serving any food, only drinks - but we easily found an agreeable dinner at a restaurant on the lakeside next to the yacht club.

Kleines familäres Hotel. Für Kurzaufenthalt ok.

Die Zimmer waren etwas kühl. (April und kalt)

Zona tranquilla ma vicino alla citta' di neuchatel, buona colazione a buffet, camere pulite, ordinate ed accoglienti.

Non c'era la possibilita' di cenare alla sera in hotel.

Très en dessous de sa description ;manque d'amabilité ;chambres sans volets ! lavabos sans bondes ! escaliers très dangereux! Plusieurs chutes petit dejeuner "rationné" !

Très mauvais manque d amabilité on attend mieux d'un établissemet Suisse !!!! pas de volets des lavabots sans bonde escaliers dangereux petits dejeuner minimum !! aucune décoration pour la semaine de Noel TRISTE ET FROID

Jag och min fru har bott på Hotel du Cheval-Blanc flera gånger och vi trivs I den genuina miljön där man känner att tiden inte rusar fram, Hotellet är charmigt och vi bara älskar den här typen av hotell. /Bo Stintzing

Sa situation géographique, nous allions visité un musée à moins d'un kilomètre. Son prix.

Le manque de chauffage.

Le propriétaire m'a donné une belle chambre coté lac.
