Edelweiss ManotelPlace de la Navigation 2, 1201 Geneva (Show map) Very good, Score from 158 reviews“It was a 'traditional' Swiss hotel with charming decor & fun themed restaurant. Spotless rooms and very decent location (5 minutes from the train stations & a few minutes from the lakeside). Friendly desk staff, restaurant less so. Would recommend for families and budget travellers.”
Katrina,
London
Situated between Lake Geneva (200 yards) and the UN (half a mile), a few steps from Geneva's city center, the Edelweiss Manotel radiates the charm of a genuine Swiss chalet. Relax in cozy armchairs around the fireplace and enjoy typical Swiss food like Fondue and Raclette in the restaurant. The Manotel's guest rooms offer a subtle blend of elegance, modern comfort and a typical alpine décor with rustic mountain-style furniture. Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel free of charge. The shopping area is only half a mile away, a children's playground can be found within 50 meters and a bus stop is right in front of the Edelweiss Manotel. Hotel Rooms: 42, Hotel Chain: Manotel.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Comes with a complimentary travel card for boats, trams and bus. City map was provided without asking and gave good recommendarion and directions. Love the very functional and spacious bathroom, great shower. Bed and covers are very comfortable, rooms are with air-con and free wifi. It is quite a distance to tow your luggage from the train station. There is a cheese smell from the restaurant in the entire hotel although I do not mind, I think some others might not like it.

Excellent hotel!I would recommend it to anyone. Even though it is Swiss kitsch all the way, it is one of the nicest and cosiest hotels I have ever stayed in. The friendly staff make the exerience worthwhile and the fantastic breakfast is good value for money. If you are going to Geneva, this is the place to stay!

The room was spacious with lots of wardrobe space (and hangers). THe bathroom was certainly adequate, clean and with a good shower. The location is central in Geneva and within easy walking distance from the main train station and very close to the lake. All in all, a good hotel for the price. The breakfast was adequate but nothing special and was an extra to the hotel price.

the free sweets..... the breakfast was not explicitedly described in the booking... hence thought included in the price. Hotel staff mentioned where breakfast will be served, but failed to warn that is not in the package.. so have to pay extra.. only discover when having breakfast.. otherwise we could have decided to not have it in the hotel.... a little misleading...

The hotel was wonderfully located in the city. We parked at their nearby hotel (4 blocks away) as there is only on street parking. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The restaurant serves good fondues with a pair of wonderful Swiss musicians putting on an entertaining show. The staff at the restaurant all seemed to be trainees. Both at dinner and breakfast there was much confusion.

Albergo stile chalet, molto confortevole. Ristorante di altissima qualità con una fonduta a dir poco fenomenale con suonatori di yodle che riscaldano l'atmosfera! Tutto perfetto e fenomenale!

Quaint motif, great location, great staff, large rooms, quiet. Great walking city. The smell from the fondue restaurant in the lower level of hotel is overwhelmingly strong when you enter the hotel, however there is no odor at all in the rooms. In the morning there is a lovely smell of cinnamon buns from the restaurant. The restaurant is adorable once you get used to fondue smell. Restaurant is very very expensive. All of Geneva we found to be very expensive but first class.

Friendly, smallish hotel well located not far to the lake and 10 min walk to rail station and local bus service passes right outside. It also has a fun swiss style restaurant serving decent food in a good atmosphere. No doubt due to the smallish plot size, the only lift in the hotel is very small.

The hotel was clean and in a good location. The breakfast was poor and though there were tea making facilities in the room the milk was out of date.

We were traveling as a group for business and needed a triple room close to the un. The Edelweiss was perfect! The room was good-sized and did not feel cramped, even with 3 people and all our luggage. The beds were comfortable (including the sofabed), very clean, nice linens, helpful staff. Plenty of restaurants just steps away. Although it was right in the middle of a busy city area, it was very quiet. Thank you!

All the staff were very friendly. The room (421) was big and although the bathroom a little small, very clean and functional. The main areas did smell a little of cooking but no smell in the rooms. A great location and friendly people - what more can I say?

The location is quite central. There is a mini supermarket and lots of shops close by. The hotel gives you a public transport card for your entire stay, including the day you check out. (You can get a free 80 minute transport card fro the geneva airport before you exit) Rooms are clean and spacious. Expensive, but Geneva is generally expensive anyway. The reception staff were no where to be found when we first arrived, however they were most helpful afterward.

The hotel Edelweiss is part of a chain of hotels in Geneva. What i like is that there is a consistency of services among all the hotels of the chain, although they are in style very different. I can stay in either hotel of that chain and i am never disappointed.

“It was clean, friendly and comfortable, and located in the right place. A short walk from the station, literally 5 mins if that, straight out of the station doors and 200 mts along a right hand turn and you were there, that's why I chose to stay here. Leave the hotel by the side door and through a small shopping arcade and you were on the river. Excellent.” John, Stoke On Trent |
