The staff was nice but the hotel is not.

The hotel needs a lot of renovation. The room are old and not renovated. Also, for the price they charge, we can find much better anywhere else. We expected to have a spiffy hotel with charm at that price. Quite disappointing.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel room was serviced without requesting anything. No one was always following us around, and when we did need someone they were very attentative.

The restaurants and the cuisine on offer was a bit limited. The Pillows were very soft and only two were provided, i had to as for an extra two pillows. The TV screen was on the small side.

I have travelled the world for the past 50 years, staying at the best hotels. I read a report about Hotel au Lac that was less than complimetary, which provoked me to try it (suspecting a decent Swiss hotel should not justify such criticism!) As I was to stay only one night, it would not matter too much if the report was justified. As it turned out, my guess was correct. I assume the author was looking for 'glass and chrome, with Ikea furniture'! If so, he would have been disappointed - it is 'traditional', but a good example of Swiss perfection, in the old style. What has prompted me to write this note was the exceptionally good service by the staff. My stay was on 1st January, when much of Europe had shut down. The guests at the hotel were few. That can lead to laxity by the staff in some cases. But, on the contrary, I was most impressed! The only time I have known better service was the immaculate performane of the Mandarin, Hong kong more than 30 years ago! That is some compliment.... The location is good - overlooking the Lake. Car parking for my friend was easy. All the necessary services were provided - and I can honestly say the staff made the visit memorable.

Nothing worthy of complaint - and I am a stern critic of hotels!

Everything was great except a tea maker and coffee making facility in room would be fantastic I know there is room service but a bit of a pain would prefer to make our own

La situation face au lac est superbe. Avec le soleil, on se croirait sur la promenade des anglais à Nice! L'insonorisation est bonne malgré la circulation assez abondante.

L'ensemble est un peu vieillot et manque d'accompagnement des évolutions de confort et de technologie "élémentaire" (équipement de la salle de bain pas au top , télé encombrante très vieux modèle et de piètre qualité). Le buffet "petit déjeuner" est loin d'être à la hauteur pour le prix demandé. Peu de choix, mets pas très appétissants. Rapport qualité prix médiocre à cet égard!

Lage,Komfort und Preis

Die Servicemitarbeiter beim Frühstück waren unaufmerksam, nur nach Aufforderung wurden benützte Teller usw. Abgeräumt, Getränke serviert.Frühstücksbüffet war bei meiner Ankunft zum Frühstück um 9.00 unaufgefüllt und wurde auch während meines Frühstückes bis 9.45 nicht mehr aufgefüllt (zB Käse, Lachs usw)
