The restaurant staff were very friendly and the food was good. Very small rooms. The carpet was not clean (stained) and the coffee and tea facilities were in the hallway in a shared area.

Great location close to train station and trams. Room overlooking the central tram stops was a bit noisy. Room was overheated and it was not possible to regulate the temperature.

I liked the location near the train station and that it was an older hotel with character that had been nicely renovated (beautiful bathroom). I liked the piano playing in the evening in the Lobby. The food and service in the Casper Restaurant was excellent. I would stay here again. The reception personnel and bell man were helpful with the computer.

I chose the hotel for its location and previous good reviews. I was travelling into Basel by train from Lucerne - just for one night before boarding on a Rhine River cruise. The hotel is perfectly located within easy walking distance from the main rail station, city centre, zoo and many other attractions. Public transport was just outside the front door and is very easy to use. I like the way we were given (by the hotel) a complimentary local travel pass which enabled us to 'get around' . We found it a quiet clean and comfortable place to stay. Staff were friendly and very professional. I would love to stay there again.

I don't understand why it is so expensive during the Basel Art Fair and the prices are so much more reasonable outside this.

The location was very convenient - right next to the main Basel SBB train station and the junction for many trams, including those going to the main eating and shopping spots. The room was surprisingly quiet despite being on a major corner. Free WiFi was a lifesaver. Staff were very helpful. We also sat in the bar downstairs just up from the street level, which was a nice place to have a snack and a beer before bed. Undercover parking at the hotel for 35CHF per night - while this is expensive, it was so convenient, and most other hotels in the city don't have this. Booking.com gave us a great deal on the price that even the hotel would not match! Good saving. It was pretty hard to control the temperature in the room and it got a bit hot. The light from outside came through the side of curtains right at eye level when in bed. Really I am just nitpicking - the hotel was great! The main downside was a price - but we got a great discount on booking.com

Very comfortable beds that sucks you in and keeps you in! Great shower and free coffee/espresso machines on every floor. Free color laser printer in the business center is great too! Convenient location with the city tram stop right in front of the hotel adjacent to the Basel train station. Only a 10-minute tram ride to Messe. Price hikes during Art|Basel
