The minimal staff. It is a bit like a hostel in that regard. Literally closes down at 9:00 approximately, so one must enter by a side door. The entryway to the hotel itself is through the restaurant so that is a teensy bit awkward but not awful. No room service; assuming it is due to small staff. Our room was a little too small and minimalist, and there are no separate twin beds. The food is very expensive, and is just OK in some instances, such as the asparagus soup. The pasta we had was delicious, however.
The location, the facade with the hanging salamis and "ticinese" style. Very nice staff, clean, minimalist room. Beautiful bathrooms. My favorite was the breakfast room and the breakfast with a wide variety of foods. Great view.
