Hotel Rotary Geneva - MGallery Collection18-20, rue du Cendrier, 1201 Geneva (Show map) Very good, Score from 332 reviews“It was clean, friendly and comfortable, and located in the right place. A short walk from the station, literally 5 mins if that, straight out of the station doors and 200 mts along a right hand turn and you were there, that's why I chose to stay here. Leave the hotel by the side door and through a small shopping arcade and you were on the river. Excellent.”

The guidance/orientation at the hotel entrance was quite good. The atmosphere of the hotel was also good. It was convenient that the hotel is close to the lake Leman. I could walk to the lake quite easily in the morning time. If the price for breakfast was indicated at the restaurant, it would be helpful.

There were two small bottles of complimentary Evian the first day -- a nice touch. Staff was helpful, friendly, and most spoke excellent English. The hotel was very accommodating in providing us with loads of hypo-allergenic pillows. They were very liberal in leaving mini Cailler chocolates in the room each day, including at turn-down. The number left increased each day - guess they figured out we liked them! That gave a touch of luxury to an otherwise competent and serviceable hotel experience. Also loved the very excellent and efficient coffee/tea maker, which we used each day and the convenience of a dedicated sink right next to it. Since I drink tea and my companion drank coffee, we liked that it heated several cups of hot water quickly so we both could use it. The room also had an easy-to-operate safe of a generous size. The thermostat controls actually worked (not a given in my experience), and we were able to adjust room temperature as desired. Water pressure for the sinks and shower was excellent. There were plenty of outlets for us both to plug in laptops, e-readers, cameras, etc. -- not always a given in European hotels. Room was very quiet - heard nothing from the halls or very much from outside (though we were on a quiet street). And location was excellent - walking distance from the train station, just a couple of blocks from both the bus station and the lake, and steps from the tourist office, and a main thoroughfare and local buses. There were some very nice restaurants in the area as well. The toilet pressure (unlike the water pressure for the sinks and shower) was lousy - it almost always took two flushes (even using the larger button) to totally clear it after use. The shower was one of those typical European bath/showers, with the door only closing half the bath, so water leaked through and could soak the floor if we weren't super- careful. It was also pricey by us standards, but Geneva is always expensive, so that's not really a criticism but a reality (like the shower issue). Room was a little small (but typical for Europe). Lighting in the room could have been better -- it was okay with all lights on, but all lights had to be on at night for it to be okay for reading, etc.

The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is a bit old but the bathrooms have been renovated and the beds are nice, with good linens. The breakfast is far too expensive but there is a good patisserie across the street as well as many restaurants in the area. Excellent location and a good price considering it's in expensive Geneva.

The hotel is situated in the center of Geneva giving ideal access to all the major attractions and utilities. The staff were extremely pleasant, polite and helpful. We had an upgraded room with everything you could wish for in a four star hotel. The only slight problem was a complicated coffee maker/water heater when a kettle would have sufficed. We ordered coffee through room service but it was not hot when it arrived.

Excellent location. Short walk from the Geneva main train station and the lake. In the heart of the shopping and entertainment district. The hotel serves an excellent breakfast. They offer free wifi internet in the rooms and throughout the hotel. The rooms and attached washrooms are very nice. The bed and pillows are lovely. There is complimentary tea/coffee in the rooms. Overall - great hotel.

Hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the hotel was good. Hotel location is very convenient (6-8mins walk from the train station and 2mins to the lake). Rooms are clean, quiet and not too small. There's small mirror in the bathroom (which is very convenient for girl's to do their make up ^_^). bed is too soft.

The hotel staff were very helpful and professional, in particular showing us the different areas of the city on the map when we arrived. The umbrella when it was raining was very thoughtful. The location is very central to everything, the lake, shops, restaurants, station. Our room was clean and comfortable, complimentary chocolates a nice touch. We liked the personal safe and everything was very clean. We would come back again. We chose to eat breakfast elsewhere as this seemed expensive

I love the idea that room service is run unseen (or at least I don't see cleaning carts parked in the hotel corridors). Also, the fact that room amenities (E.G.: soap, shampoo and lotions etc) were topped off without prompting, whether we used them up or not are most commendable! As guests paid for the room et al - it is only right to provide daily aminities and leave to each guest's discretion whether to leave the aminities or bring them home. This small detail reflects the ethic of the hotel's management. I respect the way the management runs the hotel. I wish Hotel Rotary update their rooms to a more stylish classic look. Although old/antique look is appreciated by some, dings and chips on furniture are never acceptable. The sheer curtains should be washed on regular basis. Glass shower door doesn't quite keep the water within the tub. We always have to mop the bathroom door after each use.
