what a place. represents switzerland in the best way. amazing view of the mountains. great hosts - friendly and helpful, great breakfast and restaurant.

In 6 weeks of traveling around france and switzerland we have never been so impressed by a hotel that we've felt compelled to write a review. That is, before we spent two nights in hotel gletschergarten. The hotel owners here went above and beyond to provide outstanding service and make us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. In 6 weeks we have never felt so at home! The standard rooms were immaculate and of decent size with a great view, the breakfast buffet was ample, and the hotel restaurant was a perfect option after a long day out (and at 40chf for a delicious traditional swiss four course meal, it proved great value also). Our only regret is that we were unable to stay longer. We look forward to recommending this hotel to everyone we know back home in australia!

Good location, just 15 minutes from the train station (The hotel will gladly pick you up if you call on arrival) and a short 2 minute walk to the closest piste cablecar. Good for people hiking in the summer, or skiing in the winter. Very friendly staff, happy to give excellent advice on surrounding areas, and will also sell you any tickets you need.. Breakfast, which we included, is good, fresh and plentiful. Strictly continental. Lovely, LOVELY views from the room, which was spacious and had a large verandah.

A little bit expensive, but this is the norm for Grindelwald - if anything, the price is fair for the area. No fridge in the room, unfortunately (we left drinks on the verandah - it was snowing, and they were perfectly chilled!). Food from restaurant smelled lovely, but dining times a little bit early for our taste - plenty of restaurants nearby which serve food til 11ish.

The friendliness of the owners who were always available to help and give information. Pick-up at the train station was easily arranged. E- mail communication was excellent

Great family run hotel for over 100 years. Speak multiple languages and can't do enough to make your stay pleasurable. Have a French chef who prepares wonderful meals. Walking distance to train to Jungfrau.

Staff were very friendly and willing to help in all areas. Good family feeling in all aspects of service and facilities. Good value for money.

The location was great, a short (10 Min.) walk into the town of Grindelwald. Gary and Gabrielle were excellent hosts with great hiking and train tips. I liked that we could buy all of our tickets at the desk. We ate dinner in the hotel one night and the food was very good. I assume there is history behind this hotel as it is older and very quaint. A real Swiss experience.

Owners were extremely nice and accommodating. Hotel was beautiful and in a great location. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. If you are staying in Grindelwald this is the hotel to stay at.

everyone was very friendly and so helpful in planning days out and suggestions of walks. It was also had old world charm and manners along with modern comforts as in comfortabe bed and everything working. Our room was wonderfully big with a balcony and view of the glacier.

The hotel is located in an absolutely beautiful place, and each room has access to a big shared terrace/balcony from which you can see three highest peaks in Bernese Alps! The rooms are very warm and cozy, and the staff in the hotel is very helpful - they even have a printer for ski-passes and tickets to all lifts and local trains. Breakfast is tasty and with a very good choice including delicious croissants and pastries from nearby bakery.

We booked a standard room and it was quite small - normally the price for the room of this size would be much lower. However, understand that we were paying extra for the amazing location!

We loved the peaceful, natural atmosphere of the location. It was near enough to everything that we could walk, but far enough away that it had a quiet neighborhood feel. The friendly proprietors were interested in our comfort and proactive in helping us with getting online tickets to Jungfraujoch and offering a hearty sack breakfast to take along. We will definitely book with Hotel Gletschergarten again.

1-Its a must see village plus its a must stay hotel. 2- their hospitality was great, the best team and staff I stayed with they just trying to assist you all the way. 3- the views from their balconies is absolutely amazing.

The location was absolutely super. What made it really special were the owners, Gabrielle and her husband - super friendly and couldn't do enough for us - including ticket booking amd offering to take us to the station. Tthank you so much - we will recommend the hotel to everyone!

Very helpful and likeable owners. Definitely have the dinners offered with the rooms at a little extra cost. The food was simply the best and well presented. The staff is very helpful in planning day trips and hikes in the area as well. We give it an A+

The wonderful people and service plus great location.

The family who run the hotel are very welcoming - as are the rest of the staff. I have been travelling to the Bernese Oberland for four decades and here there remains the traditional spirit of Swiss hotels - both in the architecture and the attention to guests. The view from the hotel dining room and certainly from our rooms is probably the most spectacular and beautiful that I have seen anywhere in the world.

Family run. Very friendly and helpful. great views from the porch. Very comfortable rooms. We were travelling with a baby, and the owners were quite supportive and accommodating. Has laundry facilities.

Game room needs some repair.

There is a homely feeling attached to it. they have good staff appointed and every one over there is ready to meet your demands.

Everything was absolutely fantastic. We've been to Switzerland many times, and Geri and Gabrielle were the best hosts we've ever had. The rooms, the view, the flowers..everything beautiful. And they make it so easy.
