Built in the late 19th Century this hotel offers elegant and refined accommodation in idyllic surroundings.

The Grand Hotel Kronenhof was built between 1848 and 1900 and both the interior and exterior is listed. The Kronenhof is situated in the middle of the old village area of Pontresina. The hotel offers views of the Bernina glaciers surrounded by Swiss stone pine.

At the hotel you can start your day with breakfast and a newspaper before enjoying an activity filled day on the surrounding slopes and forests, before spending the evening enjoying refreshments and cuisine in the hotel's restaurants and bars. You can also unwind and relax using the hotel's Spa and Wellness centre.

Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

Everywhere - whether from the guestrooms, the treatment rooms or the fitness room - the eye takes in the forests of Swiss pine and larch, and the expanse of the Roseg glacier.
Our spa is over 2,000 sq.m. big and lets you experience the freshness of nature in our hotel. It turns the young Grand Hotel into one of the leading names for those who want to stay healthy in a natural way. At the end of a week, the rhythms of body and nature beat in unison.

Food & beverage

The hotel has a number of places for you to enjoy food and refreshments.

The hotel has 2 restaurants. The restaurants serve a variety of meals including several different buffets as well as a carving trolley. The hotel also has a children's restaurant where children can eat under the supervision of qualified child minders. The children's restaurant is for children aged 3 and over.

You can also enjoy refreshments at either the Kronenhof bar, Bowling alley or on the Pavillon. The Kronenhof bar is open daily from 11:00 till late and its trained bar staff can provide you with a variety of cocktails. The bar also benefits from its own pianist from 21:00. The Pavillon is an outside area that is open throughout the year. From here you can enjoy stunning views whilst enjoys light snacks and drinks until dusk.

Room information

From its south-facing rooms, the Kronenhof offers a view of the glacier - the Roseg Glacier – unique for a European five-star hotel.

Area information

The hotel is located in the heart of Pontresina, 1800 metres above sea level. Pontresina is located 6 km from St Moritz.

The area offers a variety of activities and attractions throughout the year. In the summer guests can take part in mountaineering, golf at one of the 4 courses in the area, fly fishing, mountain biking, wind surfing and river rafting and canoeing.

In the winter the area provides a variety of skiing options for all levels and styles. Walking and Nordic walking paths are also close by, as well as ice skating and curling.

There are many tourist attractions in the surrounding area including The Schiefer Tower, Castle Tarasp and the Druid Stones.

New spa, breakfast

The rooms you get by booking at booking.com are not like on fotos but much (8 years) older. At reception they explaned me that we book rooms at spesial price, so we do not get the new ones. Then why dont they present pictures of the rooms we actually get??????

The Spa area and the opening duration of it was very convinient.

The dress code of jacket and tie for diner is oldfashioned - as wearing it always at business we prefer to not wear it during holidays. So we selected other restaurants. The TV set in the room works but's it's an old CRT type with very poor videotext. This shall be replaced by a state of the art model at a five star hotel.

The children below 14 are not allowed to use the spa even with parental supervision.

Ich empfand es als sehr angenehm, dass im SPA Bereich ein Zeichen darauf hinweist, dass man mit Badekleidern die Einrichtungen benutzt.
