Hotel De La Paix  

As I was on business the hotel was conveniently situated. The bar area is comfortable and pleasant to sit in. The pool area is an ideal place to relax after a hard day's work. The pizzeria/restaurant which is attached to the hotel is excellent and I often eat there.

I stay in this hotel on a regular basis, last time I was there, I was given a smoking room, even though I specifically requested a non- smoking room. The same happened to me on this trip, I complained and was told that there was no other room available. I stood my ground and demanded another room, I was ready to leave the hotel if necessary, and I was finally given another room. What a shame that this hotel doesnt look after its returning guests, but concentrates its energies on large coach parties.

Closeness to Lugano Lake

Too small bathroom, space wasted on walk-in closet. No space to put toiletries, bidet took space instead of having a bigger table. Shower too small even for a small and thin person.

Generous room size, good location and view of lake, staff attentive and gave good service.

Poor selection of English tv channels, double bed could be more comfortable, clean but general decor starting to look tired. Would benefit from a childrens play area for young families.

The accommodations for the price were positively inferior. The furniture was so old and stained (desk, for example) that it should have been discarded, not inserted into a hotel which claims to be 4 stars, How they got those stars is beyond me!

Again we enjoyed our stop in Lugano. Hotel is very well equiped to receive travellers by car. Good (free) parking, well located at walking distance to the centre and the lake. Excellent room and good breakfast.

The price of the hotel rather (too) high and this year also no possibility for a discount rate. No free WIFI internet. Today internet access is a basic service and should be included in the room rate.

The hotel is very well situated. Rooms comfortable.

Bathroom not nice. Hotel staff is not that friendly. Too small swimming pool.

Dazu fällt mir nichts besonderes ein.

Die Aufmerksamkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals entspricht nicht der 4 Sterne-Kategorie. Beispiele: Ich frage nach einer Busverbindung zur Uni und bekomme ein A4-Blatt mit dem Fahrplan in die Hand gedrückt, man zeichnet mir nicht einmal den Standort des Hotels ein. Personal ist beim Frühstückbüffet nicht aufmerksam. Leeres Geschirr wird nicht vom Tisch abgeräumt. Sitzkissen und Tischtuch sind noch voller Brotsamen. Nachschub am Büffet ist mangelhaft. Die Badezimmer sind nicht mehr zeitgerecht eingerichtet. Dusche fehlt. Wolldecken auf den Betten sind unhygienisch, nordisch währe modern und angebracht.

Chambre confortable, bonne literie, près du centre. Hotel à recommander.
