The family-run Hotel Arlette Beim Hauptbahnhof is only 200 yards from the Zurich Main Station and a 3-minute walk from the heart of the city. It has a 24-hour front desk and free Wi-Fi.
Score from 991 reviews Very good
1 room was very large, the other one normal size. Good location.
Comfortable and spacious room, very clean. Nice simple modern decoration.
Due to self check in, you can't find much promptual help with problems such as inquiring about the city whereabouts , finding an electricity plugin adjuster( since Swiss standard is so bizzare）
Totally unsafe and no privacy. The hotel is located in red light district of Zurich that is full of prostitutes/trans and drunk people. The aparment they gave me was located at ground floor. From outside you can see inside the flat as there were just thin curtains inside. I was afraid to sleep during the night due to this. Although there were videocameras on the street you never know with such atmosphere outside. I felt totally unsafe somebody could enter inside by breaking the glass of the windows that i did not sleep. In fact day later a drunk man at 7.00 oclock was just in front of window of the toilet "playing " with some bycicles..Curtain in bathroom was trasparent. When i left i was happy and i felt cheated. There was not reception so if you want to reclaim something you have to call them and spend other money as they don't have email. Probably if they give you flat that is not at ground floor you will have better experience as the apartment itself is well equipped(except for toilet paper and cuisine) but i suppose anyway you won't have so much privacy as other people from buildings in front can look inside your flat. To note also that the entrance door of the building is not locked.. For me never again.
It's cheap and despite lack of reception easy to check in/out
There is a kettle but no mugs?
Clean, beautiful bathroom, great location. Good value
Automatic key delivery system. I was tired and didn't get how it worked so wasted time figuring it out. No human to meet us for welcome.
cleanness fair for short stay
located in a red light district. not private, transparent window curtain for window close to our bed, can be see through easily. not easy to connect to wifi, we used more than 2 hours, including calling the hotline and experienced very bad response.
It is cheap and near the Zurich main station
It is located in the Zurich red light destinct. Not suitable for girls and family. Only for men.
They not allowed for cooking
It was convenient to the train station.
The fact that we needed a mobile phone to access the code for the internet. The raucous noise that went on just below the apt. until 5 in the morning. The fact that the neighborhood appears to be Zurich's red light district. Calling the room an apt. is simply pushing the envelope. Yes, there was a fridge and a tea kettle for hot water, but there were no other things that you would associate with an apt. There was one chair and a bed in a very small space. I would not stay there again.
Safe secure simple room with working amenities.
Couldn't access the internet because didn't have the code and had no phone to call for it. Location is just off a busy street with bars and hookers and johns around, but the place itself felt safe and secure and quiet, aside from the whoops of the revelers out on the street.
Central location, clean
Only one bar of soap for a 2-3 days stay, no shampoo or shower gel provided, bed matriss bends in the middel, lication noisy sometimes, we had a room under the roof so hitting your head was frequent..
Big room, quite well equipped. Clean. Close to train station and city center.
Difficult to locate the room. A bit noisy area, also we were unlucky to have very noisy people in the room/apartment next to us. The fact that there is no reception can be a bit inconvenient to solve such things but was ok overall.
The room was comfortable, clean and offered all the amenities needed for a stay of several nights. The key was in the lock box and we easily signed on to Wifi after receiving the password by SMS. Location was convenient for public transit and there is a nice Italian cafe on the corner. The neighborhood was a little strange but safe. Good value for money.
The place was very clean and very comfortable. I liked it and recommend.
The neighborhood is a red light district with a lot of bars and girls. Noisy at night. Also, there was no kettle in the room and no glass to drink water.
Clean and clear room with a nice bathroom.
There is no reception, the key is delivered by a machine as you arrive in front of the hotel. There is no restaurant. The room has a fridge but there is NOTHING to fix breakfast. There is no breakfast place in the neighborhood. One has to walk for at least 10-15 minutes to find a breakfast place.
too noisy, we woke up by people talking on the street 4 am in the morning.
but its nothing special - good to sleep, good location
rooms are to full with furniture you don`t need. Television its a mess.
Liked the cleaniness, when I first reached. Its an apartment, with a TV, fridge-in which you can stock things, there is a utility shop near by. It has an iron and bedsheets were changed for two days. We stayed for five nights. One has private space, and each floor has three apartments.
No glasses were there. We took a kettle too. The roof-ground space is too sqeezed up. But its is good value for money. Tram 31 from the central station, will take to to the street.
Comfortable bed Good wifi Powerful shower
Not so far from the centre. Clean, although a small touch of refurbishing wouldn't hurt.
No air conditioning (it happened in one of those seldom hot and humid nights in Zurich. No elevator. Small space below the roof. It was defined as a double room, but with barely enough space for a single person. One small (minuscule) soap recipient per person (for hair, body and hand washing). I could not make the TV work. It is termed apartment, but it's just a transit room. No breakfast. No staff on site, just a phone number, which is quite inconvenient for oversee travellers.
Good Wifi reception, good location.
The rooms didnt have some basic aminities like glases to drink water. rooms are too small.
The Guesthouse is located close to the main train station, and at a walking distance from the Old part of Zurich. The room we were in has been renovated (#202). The bed is comfy. There was even a fridge and a kettle (but no coffee or tea bags!! Put some in your luggage). The GH is close to the area of Longstrasse which is pretty lively (if you feel hungry, there is a Hooters not far); We were there during the Street Parade (with no intention to participate) and we were happy to be in this quiet accommodation. If you like everything but electro, then walk down to the Gonzo Club (350 m) - we had a great dancing time there.
Located in red light district. Some bars were really sketchy, old, and the people in this area seemed pretty odd. The TV has many german channels, very few in French, none in Italian...
It is not so far from the station. It has a clean bathroom and can use a wifi in the room
Good for backpackers but not cheap
Good and secure location. Clean with basic facilities.
Pointless having a kettle (for tea/coffee) if you have no cups? Electrics were a bit funny, tv plug connected to the ceiling light switch so if I wanted to watch tv I had to have the lights on. Poor wifi connection when I finally got it to connect.
