The Hotel Heiden is situated in the centre of the Biedermeier village of Heiden and offers a wonderful panorama view over Lake Constance, only 15 minutes from St. Gallen and 10 minutes from Altenrhein Airport.

This seminar and wellness hotel offers 66 bright and comfortable rooms, an excellent cuisine, comprehensive conference facilities and a first-class spa.

Seminars:
With our new seminar infrastructure including wireless LAN hotspot access, we offer you the ideal venue for a successful seminar, meeting or conference for up to 35 persons for U-shaped seating or seminar seating, and for up to 130 persons for concert seating.
All our rooms, 2 meeting rooms and 4 break-out rooms offer you the comfort of modern equipment as well as natural daylight and a fantastic view over Lake Constance and the Appenzell countryside.
Our professionals will assist you with the organisation of any event or incentive.

Food & beverage

You can choose between the à-la-carte Bö's Restaurant, mentioned in the Gault Millau guide, or the Panorama Restaurant. On warm days we'll be delighted to serve you outside on our sunny garden terrace.

Enjoy a tempting array of special delicacies. Our cuisine ranges from fresh seasonal dishes and wholefood menus to vegetarian dishes and regional specialties.

Area information

Located on a sunny terrace high above Lake Constance, surrounded by the rolling hills of the Appenzeller Vorland, Heiden is a popular holiday destination and health resort, 810 metres above sea level and 400 metres above the lake.

In the 19th century Heiden became a regular haunt of guests seeking relaxation and convalescence, largely owing to its discovery by the world-renowned Berlin eye specialist Albrecht von Graefe und Heinrich Frenkel, the founder of movement therapy, both of whom played a major role in enhancing Heiden’s reputation as a health resort worldwide.

The disrupting influence of the two world wars, however, led to a sharp drop in international travel, but in recent years, with the support of the tourist industry, Heiden has developed into a modern, independent health resort offering a comprehensive range of health and holiday facilities in its numerous hotels and recently extended spa baths.

The rolling landscape also makes Heiden the ideal place for ramblers and walkers, with an extensive network of well-marked routes and paths.

Whether you want to visit the city of St. Gallen with its many cultural attractions, go rambling through the Alpstein countryside or prefer a scenic mountain rail tour with the Rorschach-Heiden train (RHB) down to the lakeside, followed by a boat trip to Lindau, Germany, or an outing to neighbouring Vorarlberg and the Austrian mountains, Heiden is the ideal starting point.

Local transport facilities are excellent. The Rorschach-Heiden train, a combined normal and rack-railway, connects in Rorschach with national and international lines such as Geneva - St. Margarethen and Zurich - Munich. Heiden also serves as a central starting point for eight Postauto (local bus service) routes.

The quietness of the rooms, the location and the views. Spa facilities were excellent and the hotel's location gave easy access to public transport.

Would have appreciated more literature about the area and facilities in English.

Heel goed hotel: super vriendelijk personeel, mooie ruime kamer, overal: kamer - zwembad - gezamijke ruimtes: kraak net. Je kan ook rustig op de kamer werken. Prachtige ligging van het hotel. Uitstekende keuken. Juiste Prijs/Kwaliteit verhouding.

Het hotel en zijn gasten geeft een beetje de indruk (misschien is dit de doelgroep van het hotel - en dan zijn ze prima geslaagd) van een rusthuis. Misschien is dit eigen aan een Kurhotel. Mag niet zeggen dat ik er ontevreden over was maar het voelt raar aan.

Zimmer 223 ist wohl das Beste. Sehr gute, saubere und moderne Einrichtung. Sehr ruhiges Zimmer, keine Umgebungsgeräusche wahrnehmbar. Betten und Duevets auch für Personen über 2 Meter geeignet. Grosszügiges Badezimmer. Toller Blick über den Bodensee mit Sonnenaufgang und Sonnenuntergang.

NEiN nichts zu mäckern! Einzig ziehe ich persönlich einen Parkettboden dem Spannteppich aus hygienischen Gründen vor!!!
