Hotel Terrasse am See is situated on the banks of Lake Lucerne, at the steamboat landing stage and the Rigi Mountain Railway Station in Vitznau. Dancing and handicraft lessons are offered. The property boasts a private lakeshore, a sunny terrace and a restaurant serving inventive Swiss cuisine. The bistro serves breakfasts as well as lunches and dinners. The en suite rooms at the Hotel Terrasse am See are decorated in the historical Art Nouveau style. They feature seating areas and some of them have a balcony. Despite being end of season and very quiet we enjoyed the superb location next to the Rigi train and the boats on the lake. The room, with good side views of the lake and some mountains, was very clean and the beds very comfortable. The owners were welcoming and gave good advice about local restaurants.

Owners/staff very helpful and service oriented. Old hotel, with some renovated rooms. Excellent location, but it needs an update. Good breakfast and clean rooms. Dinner, despite low numbers of guests during our stay, was very good. Needs an update, but in general à pleasant hotel on an excellent location, with very friendly and helpful owners.

Situation géographique exceptionnelle (pour les chambres avec vue directe sur le lac) Accueil très chaleureux, tout est mis en oeuvre pour que votre séjour soit le plus agréable possible : réservation de billets, conseils concernant le tourisme, etc...Les chambres sont d'un très bon confort et très calmes. L'hôtel est à proximité immédiate de l'embarcadère des navettes desservant tout le lac et du départ pour le petit train à crémaillère du Rigi. On parle Français, Anglais et Allemand. Nous y retournerons.

“The Location was superb, being a stone's throw from the boat station and right by the mountain railway up to the top of Mount Rigi where even on a cloudy day the views are awesome.
