The hotel is very agreeable, perfectly situated a minute's walk away from the main street, and with fantastic views across the valley. The room was comfortable and big enough for our needs. The staff are charming and helpful. We will definitely be returning to this delightful village and this ideal hotel.

Wonderful Location! Great breakfast. Good base to then venture out to cheese and chocolate factories, little villages and lakes. Castle, H.R. Giger and Tibet museum , all interesting and worth seeing. Fondue is a must.

Very good location right next to town. The rooms were clean, quaint and the staff was quite helpful. The breakfast was quite good, offering lots of options. Overwall, we enjoyed our stay. We had a family room and a double room (without a view). The family room was great. The double room, while very clean, was quite small. It was fine for one night but I would not book it for a lengthy stay. Otherwise, all was good.

All of the things above. Lush green meadows, cows with bells around their necks, church bells, magnificent snow capped mountains, fondue for dinner. Doesn't get much better than that! The shower was a little tricky for Americans

They were very welcoming. Spoke English. Showers are odd, usual European fare. Location is top notch with great view of cows, mountain greenery, and deer. Beds are so-so. Internet works. Electrical outlets were few and far between.

The Hostellerie Des Chevaliers is on the edge of the old town of Gruyeres; a minute's walk and you're there. The hotel's rates include a good buffet breakfast. Other guests reported they had decent guest rooms. Our room -- supposedly designed for four persons, was cramped. Any time your kids can walk from mattress to mattress to mattress to mattress without hitting the ground, and when it's tough to find a place to open all the suitcases, you're talking cramped. Though we were on the top floor, our room oddly had no view, with a single small window high up on the wall. Internet service was intermittent thanks to a balky wi-fi system.

The room we had with balcony overlooking the countryside was wonderful. However, we think that if you were unlucky enough to have one of the rooms at the front of the hotel overlooking the car park, the experience would be considerably less enjoyable. Hotel was well-run with very pleasant welcoming staff. Situation just outside village excellent. The hotel's recommended restaurant was good.

its not the hotel but the serroundings that ar5e beautiful otherwise the hotel is not worthwhile staying in. Years ago it was a nice hotel now it is a 2nd class hotel certanly not for handicapped people. the rooms are so small that you have to open the windows to breath. very primitive furniture and not worth the money you pay accept for thye view of the mountains

It was very convenient to the town center given that it is not possible to utilize a car inside the city. There was private parking. The room was too small and there was not any space to open the suitcases.

Impeccably clean and very nice bathtub. Convenient location, but probably anywhere in Gruyeres will be equally convenient. Nice views, but would expect that anywhere in this town. Not gracious. On the afternoon we arrived, staff were yelling and slamming doors for a few hours. This was not a relaxing environment and made the guests feel like they didn't matter to the hotel. At checkout, credit card machine was not working and staff insisted we go to town to get cash, although they knew it would cause us to miss our train. We left anyway, and they processed the transaction with our card information on file. This was needlessly stressful and made the guests feel the hotel was concerned principally with its own convenience rather than that of its guests.

“Excelent management! The owner was veryfriendly and helpful He runs a wonderful hotel. Better location then staying in Gruyene as the views were fantastic you awake to the sounds of cow bells and only a very easy 5 min drive into Greyene. Our stay here was one of the highlights of our 2 wk trip to Itlay and Switzerland.! ” Anthony, Helena |
