Hostellerie Saint Georges  

Location was perfect. Our room was a triple, with a gorgeous mountain view. Staff kept us stocked with a wonderful variety of teas which we drank at our little tea table while we looked at the mountains. The bed and bedding was the best we've had in Europe. The breakfast room was beautiful. The breakfast itself was nice.

We could not try the hotel restaurant, as it had not yet opened for the season.

Pefect location in the center of the old beautiful Gruyere. Very friendly staff and a good breakfast served on a corvered terrace with a fantastic view to the mountains.

Being 6'5 inches tall the bed was short and the room ceiling was barely 1 inch away.

Location, clean, friendly staff, cosy

The staff were just wonderful. We have a mature son who has aspergers syndrome & they went out of their way to meet his needs & assist us as well. WIFI worked well, for which our son was grateful. The buffet breakfast was also very good. We specifically stayed there to visit the HR Giger museum, which did not disappoint. Gruyeres itself is a lovely medieval village with outstanding vistas, it's certainly worth a visit.

The room for 3 people was tight, but we were there for only 1 night.

Beautiful location

No elevator

This was a beautiful building situated in a gorgeous small town. Everything in the town was easily accessable from the venue and the staff were most helpful and able to communicate in multiple languages.

Like most places in Europe, there was no ventilation. As we were there in summer, we were quite warm and had to open the windows to get some air. Unfortunately as it is a small town, the noise and smells coming in at night did not make for a great sleep.

Good location in the heart of Gruyeres

Total absence of service from arrival to departure. If you happen to arrive after 9 you will not be able to unload luggage in front of of the hotel ann noone will help you. And if something is missing at breakfast table, they will tell you they cannot do anytrhing about it. Unacceptable in hotel charging rooms beyond 200 Euros.

For a first visit to Gruyere it was a perfect location. I requested a room overlooking the mountains and I'd recommend this. A lovely experience.

The room had no fan or air conditioning which would have been a nice choice as it was very hot . But we opened the French windows up and that certainly helped.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff and delicious food, the Hostellerie Saint Georges comes equipped with its own little village of quaint and lovely Switzerland, and views of Alpine divinity.

It was good for the price. Its location was convenient for what we wanted to do. Its breakfast was excellent. The employees were very firendly and helpful. The rooms were clean with very nice view towards the mountains and also quiet in that direction.

A removeable road block exists before the hotel and the car can not reach the hotel for loading and unloading luggage except during specified hours. We were only able to load the car near the hotel. The rooms towards the road are fairly noisy when the windows are open. The can benifit from double glass for noise and temperature control effeciency.

The hotel staff were some of the most professional. friendly and kind people I've had the pleasure of meeting in Europe. The rooms were spotless and the beds very comfortable. The restaurant was great with a beautiful view. We would definitely recommend the Hostellerie St. George to friends, and should we return to the area, we will make great efforts to stay here again.

The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, the views from their dining room of mountains, valley, and a portion of the walled hilltop town of Gruyere were spectacular.
