Price, clean, everything works The hotel is ok, location from the central railway station is just one stop by mountail trolley, 5 minutes all way. But I definitely will not go to his hotel because of its terribly close location to this mountain trolley rails, so the noice starts at around 6am and finishes at 11pm so no chance to sleep at all. above noise there is also terrible vibration. The hotel would worth it's money if the location would be far from this trolley pass. We booked the economy room but suspectthatvibration could be heard from every room of the hotel. So we spend one sleepless night in this hotel and escaped early morning, earlier than panned...

Mainly its location, right in the heart of the city (the noise of the cable car beside it is not terrible at all!). It's clean, comfortable, I'd come back if again in Lugano.

The location is awesome, the rooms are very well appointed, the beds are very comfortable and the staff are very nice and helpful. I can only sleep in the complete silence and the cable car of which I was warned during the booking process produces really a lot of noise. I woke up at 5 am never to be able to get back to sleep, since the cable car started moving up and down each 30 minutes or so and my window was so close to its path that I would probably be easily able to talk to the people in the car :) Conclusion: if you are a light sleeper, do ask the hotel staff to give you a room which does not overlook the cable car.

The room was over a train that ran all day and late into the evening. There was one key for the room, and you had to lock it from both sides.

near the funiculare and hence train station. also in the middle of the city. price is just ok dont take room 32 (superior!) as its is less than 12m2 without flat screen or coffee machine as advertised, and the view is primarily of the rooftops not the lake. the pictures advertised are of 1 of 3 rooms that they have with balcony and flat screen etc. the other superior rooms are as described above.

Location is very convenient. Upgrade to room with bath was provided at no extra charge when room with bath across the hall was not available. Breakfast is excellent. I found the proximity to the cable car and attendant noise to be a plus rather than a minus.

Rumbling noise from the funicular will keep you awake until midnight and it starts again at 07:00. 18 euro breakfast additional charge is not good value for the offerings. Hotel charges for internet service in standard and economy rooms.

The location...hotel was very central. There was a funicular going right through the hotel that continued through until about midnight and then started back up early in the morning. We were put in a room right next to it and it felt like an earthquake as the funicular rumbled up the hill.

I only had an afternoon in Lugano and chose this hotel because of its nearness too the train station. I was really impressed. Having read other reviews re the noise from the furnicular, I was a little worried but I never heard it at all! Very clean, staff very accommodating. Couldn't have wanted any more.
