The 3-star Astoria hotel is in the heart of Geneva, facing the Cornavin train station, and close to the business quarters and the UN, the UNHCR, the WTO and the WHO.
Score from 834 reviews Good
Just a 5-minute walk from Cornavin Train Station, the Nash Ville has a prime location in Geneva’s lively red light district. It offers air-conditioned rooms.

The Excelsior hotel features a central location, a 5 minute walk from the Geneva Train Station and 10 minute walk from the Old Town. Wireless internet access is available for free in the entire hotel....
Score from 869 reviews Good
Just 260 ft from Geneva’s Cornavin Train Station, this 3-star hotel is a 10-minute walk from the center of the city and Lake Geneva. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.
Score from 1110 reviews Very good
Nice hotel, with excellent service from the staff at the reception.
Nice, small hotel in the heart of Geneva
Location of the hotel in the dodgy area (dark types and prostitutes)
Great breakfast and location (near central station).
The location is perfect, right by the station, don't listen to other views about the red light district, if you walk straight down from the station it's fine.
Maybe the room could have been slightly better cleaned
Excellent place, great staff, great breakfast. Absolutely zero issues being on the edge of the so called red light district
First of all: IMHO reviews need to be seen in the context of the destination and the overall price-level of this city. Geneva is quite small and rather belongs to the more expensive cities in Europe. The location of the hotel is just fine; yes, some sex-shops are just around the corner but so are expensive jewellers, banks, other hotels, the train station, many restaurants etc. And in comparison to the red-light district of my hometown Hamburg, Geneva's hardly can be called a red-light district; so I have to disagree with some of the reviews here. About the hotel The hotel is very centrally located, the staff was nice and friendly, the breakfast was all good, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and my TV worked just fine and the towels were soft, fresh and tidy, The value-for-money is good. As for the hotel's style it is rather down-to-earth/robust/old-fashioned and nowhere near to being a stylish-design hotel, but that's alright for me.
The WiFi is very slow and the safe in my room was mobile/not anchored to anything but could just be moved around (or carried away if you wanted to)
Bad cleaness Poor internet
Very nice guy at the reception, tasty breakfast (croissants, mmm...). Good location, near to the station. And yes, that means it is in red light district :) I also liked the opportunity to have tea and coffee in the room. Good value for money, having in mind prices in Switzerland.
Room is tiny. Bed looked comfy at first, but the bedding material was very slick. It is hard to have a good sleep when you sheets fall off you.
Near cornavion station, lots of restaurant surrounding the hotel
The location of the hotel and the breakfast member of staff, who very rude when We pointed to her that the scrambled eggs where cold and hard.
Good location, no additional costs for breakfast
WIFI was rather slow interior a bit dated, but functional
It is not m'y kind of hotel but was cheap for INDY sleeping
Didn't get to sleep until 3am due to the walls being so thin you can even hear if the next door room drop a pin. Noisy drunks on the street even on a Monday night also kept me awake for hours. Bathroom had hair in the sink. Not clean. Room was tired and falling apart, with paint flaking off. It was pretty depressing. I visit Geneva every month trying different hotels and this is the worst hotel I stayed in that city.
It was a good location close to shops and the train station. The room was nice for a solo traveler. It is off main strip. Staff are friendly. Breakfast was okay.
It was a little loud early in the mornings and you can hear other rooms as the walls are very thin.
Everything about the hotel
Good breakfast, big room, poor wifi, close to the train station
close to train station, not too expansive
small bed for 2 person and suck internet
fantastc value Very friendly All you need Convenient location
poor wifi connection Not a great area with pimps and prostitutes but they don't bother you
I just needed a hotel for 1 night that gave a fair rate on single rooms, this fitted the bill, However things were better than expected, good size room, free wi-fi, excellent breakfast and close to the centre
friendly staff, nothing too much trouble, breakfast excellent and location good for train station
sex shop next door, too many people hanging around the streets at night. front bedroom noisy until early hours. No bath in room and room too small although advertised as large double. On third floor and sign on lift stating only one person and case at a time.
You get what you pay for. Breakfast was ok. Nothing special but what was there was ok. The hotel is very close to the main station and tourist office. All main attractions of Geneva are not far away from the hotel. Public parking garage is only 50m away. 24 ticket costs 58 chf however as a hotel guest you get a card that gives you 50% off
Room was very small and was smelling bad. Very loud street, the hotel is situated on the edge of the red-light district. Two streats away the ladies in windows can be seen.
- only a few minutes away from main station - very well equipped - clean, modern - got a two-day ticket for public transportation - very rich breakfast
- in the direction opposite to the main station the red light district begins, but if you reach the hotel from the direction of the main station you should not be bothered.
The condisions were good .
The location is in abad naiberhood.
