The recently renovated, family-run 3-star-hotel Balegra is situated on the outer ring of Basel. By public transport it is only 8 minutes from the railway station "Basel SBB" (tram 8), 15 minutes from the city centre (tram 8) and about 15 minutes from the airport (bus 50 / 36). The next bus stop (bus 36) is situated just in front of the hotel. All our rooms are equipped with direct-dial telephones (incoming and outgoing), cable-TV with video, safes, WiFi internet access and hair-dryers. Extra beds and baby cots are available upon request. Our breakfast-room has recently been reconstruced. We also have a charming restaurant with a nice terrace where we serve mediterranean specialities. Important: The mobility-ticket (for free use of public transports in Basel during your stay) is included in the room-rate.

Good location and the staff was reasonably friendly. The entire hotel smells of smoke- for anyone sensitive to smoke, do not stay here!

The reception was very personal and warm. The hotel is outside the center of Bale, but you get a free ticket for the trams and busses, which makes it all very easy.

Helpful & polite staff, good breakfast No reception the weekends - need to call a local number to get a code for a key distributing machine. Noisy - traffic and poorly insulated walls. No bar/restaurant - closed until further notice. Unconfortably thin pillow.

Die Fotos auf dem Interent die Einzelzimmer sind mikro klein, die Möbel sehr dürftig. Matrazen alt. Preis/Leistung völlig überrissener Abzock!

Das Zimmer war sauber und hatte eine angenehme Größe. Tolles Frühstücksbuffet. Kostenlose Parkplätze, wenn man Glück hat und einen direkt vor dem Hotel ergattern kann. Das angeschlossene Restaurant erspart einem die Fahrt in die City. Den Preis fand ich etwas überhöht.

L'hôtel est très bien situé. Proche du centre, il bénéficie de beaucoup de tranquillité tout en étant situé sur une ligne de tram. Très bon accueil. Manque de diversité au petit déjeuner, de la baguette serait notamment bien venue.

-Ich war soweit zufrieden -Das Personal war sehr nett -Das Hotel musste eigentlich nur nahe zu meinem Konferenzort sein -Ich würde das Hotel für einen geschäftlichen Kurzaufenthalt ohne hohe Ansprüche empfehlen -

Die Lage des Hotels Balegra war für uns ideal. In wenigen Minuten waren wir zu Fuss im Neubad bei der Tramlinie 8 und konnten ohne umzusteigen den Ort erreichen, an dem wir einen Kurs besuchten.

Frühstück ist vielfältig, aber nur wenig vorhanden. Viel Gutes zu sagen gibt es nicht. Ich hatte ein Premium Einzelzimmer gebucht, welches immer noch so klein war dass man beim Aufstehen vom Schreibtischstuhl (welcher schon diverse Abnutzungserscheinungen aufwies) gegen den Schrank krachte. Die Möbel sind billig und nicht mehr die neuen gewesen. Ich hatte mühe meinen Notebooktrolley in den Aufzug zu bringen. Es war laut und für 145 Franken hatte ich wirklich was anderes erwartet. Das Restaurant unten ist relativ gemütlich, aber das Cordon Bleu hat mich ebenfalls nicht vom Hocker gerissen. Ich werde dort nicht mehr absteigen.

Auch nach der Neuübernahme des Hotels bester Service und gewohnte Qualität. Ich kann dieses Haus auch wegen seiner verkehrsgünstigen Lage nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

The historic Hotel im Schlosspark completely renovated and opend May 2008 is located in the lovely garden surrounding Binningen Castle, only 5 tram stops from Basle's main train and the city centre.
