Score from 710 reviews Very good
Location of hotel is very convenient as it is just 4 mins walk from main station of Lucern. Also, ust outside the hotel, there is a very pleasent walk way along side the river which is great relaxing location for a stroll in the late evening.
Rooms are too small for a family of 4. Cleaning need great improvement. Hotel must check the usage of any chargable items in the room before guest checks out from the hotel. Hotel should never charge to the credit card of guest with permission of guest for any reason.
It seems we arrived early in the summer resulting in service unavailable. For example, the restaurant and bar were closed.
-Full payment for the 6 night stay was insisted upon before handing over the room keys. I pointed out that they had our credit card as gurantee, nothing was written on the confirmation and we were clients returning for the third time. - There is no longer a buffet breakfast. - The bathtub was so clogged that hair was sticking out of the drain. - we caught bed bugs from the matresses - drunk people screaming all night in the hotel and no hotel staff to ask them to be quiet
Poor wifi, asked to pay 5 chf for hot water to make own cup of tea.
The location was great; 10 minute or less from train and boat depot. Check-in until midnight. Has pool, also. Coffee right across street and 100 meters to Natural History museum and then across bridge to old town Lucerne. Very glad we found this place.
Mildew in shower. Come on! 20 seconds of spray bleach cleane every month and the place would have been spotless.
First of all, it is very very expensive compare to hotel standards. It is not all value for money. Room was very small for our family. Even after paying big money, it does not include the breakfast charge. From my point of view, Do not go to this hotel.
It was very close to the lake Great restaurants close by Room was a good size and the bathroom was also great
Location. Good size shower Lift. A safe
Our room was really small and cramped, felt claustrophobic and not restful in it. Photo of room deceptive.. Noise from Guests using the pool or terrace facilities can be loud and magnified in the rooms
Hotel was very clean and quiet. A good night of sleep was definitely helpful! ~10min walking from the train station.
The location is good.
They put 4 of us into a 2 people room. It is a bit crowd
No microwave to warm up kids meals, room quite untidy, cold welcome, no minibar but one room temperature small bottle of water for 5 francs (no signs saying it was not included). Haven't seen the pool as we were just sleeping over but I guess it is the only remarkable feature. Stay away of it if not in for the pool.
good location, in old Town. large room and bath room
Room and bath room is large.
A little bit walk from train station and breakfast cost too much.
the location of the hotel was good, very central in the town - but that's about it!!!
One receptionist was extremely unfriendly and unkind. There was a Group of travellers on my floor who gathered in the one room in the evening, were drinking and partying all night, extremely noisy, common and loud!!! That went on for four consecutive nights. I complained to the reception-staff but they didn't do anything about it. It was a night-mare!!! I am very disappointed in BASLERTOR-Hotel!!!! Low Rating.
Location is good and reasonable price.
3mins bus ride away from the train station.
This has been the absolutely worst hotel I have stayed in due to a variety of factors. Firstly, the rooms were tiny and despite asking for a room to accomodate my family of 5, we were given a small room suitable for 2 people with 2 sofabeds and 1 foldable bed squeezed into the room. We had hardly any space to walk or luggage room. This was the least of our problems. Although we left our used towels in the bathtub to be changed, we return to the hotel with the towels unchanged. We went to the reception to ask for fresh towels but she claimed to have no more new towels so we had to re-use the same towels for two nights. We requested them to put a note to change the towels for housekeeping the next day. However, things turned for the worst as we returned back 10pm the next day from our trip to find that no housekeeping was done and the room remained in the same state as it was when we left in the morning. Of course, no towels were changed as well. This is ludicrous considering this is a Swiss hotel where such basic services are expected. However, what is more horrendous was the attitude that the boss of the hotel, Roland, gave to my family and I. Never have I seen such poor customer service in any place I have been. He called my room to "apologise" for the error but with little understanding of what actually happened. He claimed to have "already upgraded" us from the guesthosue when it was the hotel room we booked originally and did not want to give any service compensation. After which, he slammed the phone down on me. When I was confronting him at the reception for that infuriating act, he kept talking down to us as if we were his subordinates. We are his customers and he actually still dared to raise his voice at me and my mum with threatening hand gestures and had the audacity and rudeness to shut my mum up with "If you are the master of the house, why are you getting your son to do the talking".
the hotel is very close to the city centre and it is possible to reach by walking every interesting site
the staff is very rude
nothing is satisfied!
The old man who serves at the check in desk is rude, very very unfriendly. when I asked him to repeat the code and username of wifi, he stared at me and pull the face as if I had done something bad to him. so ridiculous! The room for 4persons is too small and the decorations of the room are old and strange which make us unconfortable. this is the first time and will be the last time that I choose the hotel.
It is convinent to go to the river, town
wifi is very weak did not give us the invoice for printer error, and promised send the invoice by email but not recieved yet
