Hotel Beaulac  

We liked the location of the hotel close to the center and shopping street, as well as the decoration of the hotel and rooms. Simple and clean lines. Staff was pleasant and we were nicely surprised by the bartender who was offering excellent cocktails!

Mostly in the rooms: The airconditioning was not working, this is a BIG minus, especially with child. The noise at night of drunk people comng from the bar next to the hotel on the port side. The bathroom was not completely practical: no where to hang hand towels or to put bath stuffs in the shower. The noise coming from the air con was noisy for a long time even after the light was turned off.

The location was perfect, 2 min walking distance from city center, and right on the lake. The lounge sushi restaurant was definitely nice and good. Nice stylish reception.

The hotel is old and renovated; they did do a good job with the reception and common areas (from what we've seen) but the rooms are right at the limit, at least ours, which was renovated (we made sure); the windows were old and the paint was coming off, the tv was really small and low quality, but the bathroom was really the issue: extremely small (forget about being 2 in there at the same time), the doors of the shower did not slide making your movements in the bathroom even more delicate, and the shower head was aweful, full of sediment which made the water fall everywhere but on yourself... Also, the room wasn't perfectly cleaned, not for a hotel room, the shower, once again was not done properly, there was dust around the windows, etc... For a 4 star hotel, the room was not up to the regular standards.

Good value. Very fresh, clean and modern interior (both public areas and rooms). Perfect for mid-budget business trips.

Only that it is not quite as plush as the Beau Rivage down the road. But it's markedly cheaper so this is not a complaint.

Service, multi-ligual staff, excellent food, including breakfast buffet. Location .. right on the shore of Lac Neuchatel. Walking distance to museums, old town, train station, etc. Good noise control. Staff present in front lobby during Fete de Vendange to keep guests safe and un-bothered by party-goers.

Location was excellent, staff very helpfull and breakfast was acceptable.

Comfortable bed

Beautiful room - we were in the deluxe room. Nice, quiet, great views of the lake. Breakfast was not hot - we arrived at 8 so it should still have been hot.

Perfect location: right on the lake and a short walk to the village. Very modern rooms. A parking garage on site.

There was no criticism of this hotel

The hotel was very close to the center of town and major highways. The rooms were exceptionally clean with air-conditioned which at times seemed a little noisy. Now as for the reception they are very unfriendly, not making eye-contact with people, not caring who you are and did not respond well when asked a question or wanted to make a change. The breakfast was very well equipped with everything continental, but very crowed on a windy and cold day like we had during our stay there. They did not seat you and very impersonal and no care attitude. Was not very please on this part. Aside from the room and location the hotel was more for a business person on the go, not so family oriented.

Location on the lake is excellent. Staff were kind and provided even a room for our kids on the lake side without extra charge since the booked room was not ready yet. Breakfast very good.

The bathroom could be bigger.

Hotel had over booked our room class and tried to give us a lower room. We had pre paid non refundable so of course I was very dissapointed with this. I called booking.com and they requested that the hotel put us into a higher room class if they did not have the room availiable that we had booked. In the end we got a J.suite which was very nice. At check out the clerk wanted me to pay before she would give me a copy of the bill. I think most people would like to review the final bill before they pay.

Good location and comfortable beds. Breakfast was also good.

Room was very hot and aircon did not appear to work . Hotel Staff unable to resolve aircon problems. Ended up not sleeping very well as a consequence and left feeling disappointed. My colleagues room also suffered similar aircon problems.
