Situated in Weinmarkt Square, in the heart of Lucerne’s Old Town, Best Western Hotel Krone offers a rich buffet breakfast, free Wi-Fi and a cozy restaurant with summer terrace.
Score from 311 reviews Very good
In the pedestrian zone in the heart of Lucerne, right at the historic Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge), where the Reuss river leaves Lake Lucerne, you will find the pretty Hotel Des Alpes.
Score from 861 reviews Very good
The Ameron Hotel Flora is in a prime location, 500 ft from the Chapel Bridge and 320 yards from the train station and Lake Lucerne. It has stylish rooms.
Score from 1170 reviews Very good
Zum Weissen Kreuz is near the Reuss River in Lucerne’s historic Old Town, just a 2-minute walk from the Chapel Bridge and a 5-minute walk from the train station.
Score from 639 reviews Very good
The location in the centre of the old town near the river and the Chapel Bridge was excellent. The Pirate room was quirky and fun. The room was clean and comfortable with good coffee/tea making machine.
Somewhat noisy if the window was open due to position above the square. Difficult to adjust temperature without opening window.
We booked the pirate room jokingly, expecting it to be a bit chintzy. How wrong we were. It was beautiful. A gorgeous room with beautiful vintage furniture and wonderfully. Ambient lighting. Powerful shower Comfiest mattress. Beautiful veiw from the window overlooking a church and river with the Alps in the distance. Great coffee machine and a very good breakfast round the corner, it was nice to have a morning walk through the square so we didn't mind that breakfast wasn't on site. Wonderful.
Breakfast was good, good location
I wasn't expecting the themed room - not to my taste, lots of noise from people below with windows open and no aircon. Pathetic wifi signal from train station checkin is further away meaning doubling back with bags to checkin and get to room. overall would not stay again
Huge room. Great jacuzzi in there and good all round facilities. Great location right near the water (King Suite does not have a view of it, but the room makes up for that). Breakfast was very good.
there has no electricity in the room the whole night
Location is good, city center, shopping malls and attractions around it.
Can't access the WiFi! It is very noisy out side. Terrible beds and shower facilities! If you were looking for a cozy place, donot consider this hotel!
Location in the old town; valet parking is very convenient (a must, actually); fantasy details in room.
No criticism but advice: access to hotel by car is only possible by tresspassing pedestrian area. Which is allowed, occasionally, but that is unclear; and very difficult to find out where&how to drive.
The room is clean and large. Breakfast is so fresh. Mother and I were really satisfied with this hotel.
We were on the top floor -- no wifi at all! No staff of this hotel -- for everything, we had to go to Best Western.
Breakfast was very basic
location;only the location is good
Poor wifi;Don't provide the desk, my husband could only use the laptop on the bed; the staff was not nice and helpful
Location size and breakfast
Very noisy throughout the night from people in the square below
to much noise from outside
The room was awesome. We had a private jacuzzi next to our bed and a bathtub in the bathroom. The bed was comfy. From the balcony we had a view onto the town hall and the lake. The room and the bathroom were very clean. The staff were very kind, we could leave our bags in the hotel's private room on the last day after checking out. The breakfast was until 10:30, so we did not have to get up too early.
The sound isolation was terrible. Even at 1am we could hardly go to sleep because of continuous noise from the neighbouring bar (they were organising the chairs or what?). Even with closed windows we could hear passers-by, at around 3 am some drunk guys completely woke us up by shouting so we could not get enough rest. The Wi-Fi was ok but below average speed (youtube HD stream was lagging).
Noisy because restaurant and terrace downstairs
Decor was terrible, lots of cheap stuffs were put in the room in strange style Wifi was nearly not working Too weak
Given that I was hauling a large case, the location of the check-in Hotel in relation to the actual accommodation was so inconvenient and difficult to find.
Great Staff. Great hotel. Really friendly service. They offer valet parking which was very useful. FANTASTIC LOCATION!
Its not a big deal, but would probably be more conveinent for people if the booking confirmation receipt told guests that the check in was at the Best Western hotel across the square. It would just make checking in a wee bit easier.
1. The location is not good as think. 2. wifi is horrrible, have to lean to the door and get just a bit wifi signal. 3. The facilities are so simple. And only a bed. 4. Breakfast is simple 5. The boss I guess is not friendly at all!but one young staff is quite good!
Quirkiness of the room.
Perpetual noise from the square which we overlooked.
my room overlooked the alley at the back, so with the window open there were sometimes cooking smells from the restaurants below, I think the rooms on the side and front would have been ok and would have had good views.
The room had character. There was a Nespresso style coffee maker in the room. The room had a large comfortable singular bed meaning that they didn't just stick two smaller beds together. The bathroom was nice and included a decent sized shelf above the sink to put your toiletries, which is very uncommon in Europe. The staff at the hotel where we checked in was very helpful and pleasant.
There was a "mystery" laundry bag sitting in the hallway outside the staff room the whole time we were there. The elevator was small. There was no air conditioning so the windows had to be open overnight allowing the noise from the pedestrian zone to occasionally wake you up. There were a couple cockroaches in the hallway (only one living one), but this wasn't a huge issue and expected given the location right next to the water. No view of the mountains or the water.
Great location Great room Helpful staff Yummy breakfast
No wifi reached the room at Hotel Magic but had it when at breakfast at Hotel Krone, the sister hotel.
1. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a King Suite that featured a jacuzzi and a stunning view of the clocktower...unforgettable 2. Excellent location, very central
1. Wifi non-existent in our room, weak signal elsewhere. That's the only issue - everything else was perfect
Location is a big plus ... close to everything you need to see in Lucerne. Made it easy with our 1 year old to make short pit stops.
When its a bit warm you need better ventilation or be prepared for the passersby voices piercing through your window.
