Very nice rooms, personal very friendly and helpful.

No WiFi connection in the rooms. Only available in the Lobby... Not even on the terrace.

It is listed as 4 star so you would expect a level of comfort. No wardrobe space for clothes no area for suitcases bathroom very small big problem Teperature in Basel on Friday 32deg, no air conditioning in bedrooms or any where in Hotel. Offered us a fan!!!! This is not 4 star rating No Wi Fi in bedroom only in open area 5 sf for 30min ( 4 star hotel 4 star prices Wi Fi is normally free. Very expensive mistake to book this hotel

Very good food, and delightfully friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location beside the Rhein and close to 'old town'. Comfortable rather than stylish ambience. Free soft drinks in room fridge - excellent idea and much appreciated

Possibly needs style up-date, and more casual seating areas. Would definitely benefit from addition of spa and pool. Problems from very noisy clubs? Pubs? Nearby till 0400 am, and windows didn't appear to be double-glazed..... Difficult to find without a gps when driving as the city signage leaves a great deal to be desired and city has an unfriendly one-way system! Hotel needs to provide comprehensive maps both on-line and in printed formats.

Our accomodation has been worse than that shown on the Web-pages; being a room located at 1st-floor close to the upstairs restaurant's cooking- area...but even with a "permanent noise" injected in the room due to the noisy-fan of the near-by server-computers room; the noise is simply transmitted thru the air-conditioning pipe making impossible for us to sleep. So, discard please the room #104, as well as the near-by rooms, where, I guess you can face the same issues. Last but not least, the room-size and the tiny old-fashion bathroom are certainly not compliant with the 4-stars rating. As well as the breakfast...nothing special...it could be improved; along with the waiter's kindness

Lot of noisein the street till early morning, people celebrating the start of the week-end ?

Lovely room overlooking the Rhine. We were at the Merian on a Saturday, Sunday, so we were treated to the sound of bells from the old town across the river. Restaurant was a bit pricey but worth it.

The underground parking garage is very small and cramped. Hard to park the car. Suggest a bell hop to help with luggage to room.

Great overall service! Very clean and modern. Wonderful breakfast. Great views from my room, and ideal location!

Very beatiful view over river Rhein. The breakfast was also very good.

The hotel gave us free tickets for the Basel's transport system. Minibar drinks were free. Location is spot on!

No free wifi internet on the rooms (although a wired connection was available) which was a problem if you travel only with a tablet or smart phone. Room was too small for two people and the rooms facing the main street (and not the river) are a bit noise.

I't needed to be aware that the hotel is it on the border to quiet red light area.

It was good window view for the city. It is also American hotel and it is sophisticated for people's need. Nice location. The room was little bit small, but I guess that it is O.K. for business trip.
