Hotel Moderne  

Location is perfect, staff is very pleasent and want to help you. As I understand, Geneva and Switzerland is supporting usage of public transport, so this hotel provides you free ticket (with the map of city and public transport map) for all duration of your stay to be used for any type of LOCAL transport (boat on the lake, trains, buses, trams). Room was nice with large bed. It does not have hair dryer, but you can land it form the reception without the problem. I would stay in this hotel again!

The constant noise of ambulance emergency cars was the only thing I found desturbing in the early morning. I do not know if the emergency center is near by, maybe room on the other side of hotel would be less exposed to the noise.

It was good for public transport, both to and from the airport and also for the CICG. Considering the prices of some of the other hotels in the area (and the high prices in Geneva generally), it was very good value, especially with breakfast included.Colleagues at other hotels nearby were charged 16CHF for breakfast. A lot of people who travel to Geneva work for small charities and NGOs, so the affordability issue is very important. The hotel was clean, the staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was basic but good. I will definitely recommend it to colleagues (many of whom stayed in more expensive hotels that were no better than the Moderne).

Ony one small problem - the wi-fi was a bit unreliable. Sometimes it worked well, but then it would often stop working for ten minutes or so. Maybe this was only a problem on the 2nd floor, where I was.

Located close to the train station so both the train and the bus to the airport are easily accessed.

Overall feeling was very grungy and dirty. Although I could see that the room had been repainted recently the bedding and the lighting made the room look dirty and depressing.

The bed is extremely uncomfortable. And there is no air-con in the room, not recommended if you are going to stay in summer. The hotel is next to the main road and as there is no air con, you are forced to open the window to let the fresh air in... However, the traffic noise make you hard to fall asleep at night.

Room smelled of mothballs.Renovation of bathroom and room, as well as breakfast area is urgently required. Doors banged, also when one tried to close them softly.

A decent enough location.

Carpets were dirty with old stains all over them which made the room feel dirty. An old sofa in the chair that looked like a hygiene risk. For the price you pay it's a very old hotel.

It is very noisy located on a very busy street, and the walls are paper thin.

It is well located, but is not so much pretty, rooms are sad and clean but old, so it could look like not clean.

Rooms are sadI recommended if you dont have so much budget, because everyplace in Geneve is so so so much expensive. So even this hotel is expensive and doesnt offered great quality of infraestructure, is well situated and personal are nice people and helpful

The room is tiny and full of dust. Our maid room is better than the room in this hotel a lot. The blanket is super dirty and seems its never been washed. We can't even stay for 5 mins as we decided to change the hotel immediately. This is our mistake to choose this hotel from the photo we saw in the internet. Our recommendation for Booking.com is to erase this hotel from your list. This is to secure your good reputation. Believe us!
