clean, efficient, no-nonsense, value for money

My 3rd stay at this wonderful hotel, everything about it is brilliant - the staff, room size and comfort, fabulous beds, excellent double glazing, high quality of room, spotless bathroom, amazing breakfast, and of course, location right outside Basel SBB station.

Tram noise is always an issue, it's a rumble wherever you are in the hotel - not everyone will be bothered by it (I wear earplugs!).

The hotel is situated just next to the main train station of Basel - excellent location. The attractions of the city are at a short walk distance or a short tram journey. Several tram lines have their stops just in front of the hotel. The shops at the train station are still open even after the regular opening hours, in case you've forgotten to buy something. The breakfast is very good with plenty of choice. The room has a coffee/tea facilities, a flat tv, a safe deposit box. There are also soft drinks available at each floor free of additional charge. The wi-fi connection is fast - you can manage a video call without interruptions. The bad is very comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful.

You can hear some noise of the trams that begin running early in the morning :)

Everything is great. It is right next to the train station which is such a relief for me traveled by train. The room is really clean and comfortable. Despite being next to the train station, it is not noisy at all.

Nothing beats relaxing in the cozy room after a tiring day of touring the city. Great location, right next to train station, tram, mini market.

We thought the location was perfect. Right next to the train station and the public transportation which is provided free by the hotel.

Superbly situated, very close to the railway station, airport bus, and trams. Old hotel, but rooms very well modernised; best hotel bathroom I have had. Busy outside, but quiet in the room. Buffet breakfast was the best selection I have, much organic. Overall, one of the best I have stayed at; helped by very pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent.

Excelent breakfast , complimentary bottle of water in room , free wi-fi . Hotel has a long history - well documented by fotos in restaurant and still under good management. Modern rooms. Over 100 yrs old paintings in hallroom .Very classy !

Possibly the CLEANEST most spotless hotel I have ever stayed in. Kudos to the cleaners here! Incredible value for money for a nice, modern hotel, quality bed linens, comfortable bed, lovely spacious bathroom and Yves Rocher toileteries! Super friendly and helpful staff. Great location just a short walk to the old town. I would absolutely RECOMMEND to stay here if you are visiting Basel.

I loved everything! Everyone at the hotel were super nice. We even got tickets for the public transport for free! The rooms and the hotel overall looked brand new, and were true to what we viewed online. This is my favorite hotel in Europe so far!

There is too much noise coming through the adjacent rail station. A bit of sound proofing or noise reduction will be great.

The location - very close to night life bars and restaurants, the facility was clean and spacious, staff were very attentive

Access by car was difficult, car parking fee expensive, booked the double bedroom but got twin bed room instead

This is a very good hotel. Great location just next to station and tram stops just outside the front door. Free transport from and back to airport and transport pass for use within the city was very welcome. Rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast very good with a fine range of hams, cheeses, breads etc. Staff very friendly. Overall I would stay here again.

If you're a light sleeper like me, trams on the street are *extremely* noisy (vibrations through the walls, etc.). Even with earplugs.
