Hotel Schweizerhof  

This is a wonderful hotel, very convenient to the train station and overlooking the main tram platforms, from which you can go anywhere in Basel. The staff are excellent, friendly and always helpful. The rooms are modern and well designed. The breakfasts are included and are among the best we have encountered in our travels. We have stayed here on several occasions and look forward to our next stay in December.

The free "mini-bar" is awesome and very cute of staff to mention that they don't offer any alcohol.

one of the best 3 star hotels i ever stayed

The location was great - right across from the train station. We were given transportation passes which enabled us to ride the street cars and buses throughout our stay free of charge which was amazing as the street cars were right outside the hotel which made getting into the city a breeze! Complimentary cold drinks were avaiable on each floor - nice touch. Staff was very accommodating and breakfast was great! Rooms were very clean and beds were very comfortable. Non noise from outside. Great Stay!

One of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. Well renovated, but still elegant. The staff were excellent; professional and friendly. Fantastic location near the airport bus stop and train and tram hub.

The location is unbeatable. Just in front of the main rail station and Basel station is beautiful. The room is also very nice and clean, with wooden flooring and well equipped with tea and coffee maker, hairdryer,free wifi.The hotel staffs, especially 2-3 young girls who check me in were very kind and professional. They do everything to meet my request and I'd like to thank them here. I changed hotel twice during my stay in Basel because each one has some inconvenience although they are also nice, but this one (last one I stayed) was perfect. I am a smoker and these days it isn't easy to find hotel who accept me.This hotel is non-smoking hotel but they have a separate lounge for smokers, gave me a room with balcony so that I can go out to smoke outside,in other word they don't treat smokers like criminal as many non smoking hotel do, all by keeping smoke free environment for non smoker.It was more expensive than the other hotels I stayed but for this perfection it is worth paying slightly more.

I wanted give them 10 out of 10 point but I hesitate a bit because I met 1 staff not very friendly as the other reviewers said. Compared to most of staffs, one elder staff was a bit cold and unfriendly although she did her job. Without meeting her on my way out it was totally perfect, so it is a bit pity.I'd like to emphasize that all other staffs were wonderful.

Womderful customer service. 24 hour continental breakfast for you at any time. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had eveything we needed.

In transit by rail. Close to station. Very convenient for transfer of luggage.

We only stayed one night as a break in our trip from Italy to Gernany and had chosen the hotel due to its proximity to the train station. In retrospect it turned out to be the best hotel on our trip in terms of size, services etc.

Location is good..

Towels in bathroom have to be much more. Lightening system could be more efficient..
