Good atmosphere, while we were there the bar and restaurant were lively. It is well located with fine views across the river over the city. The check-in was friendly and efficient. The hotel has charm.
Our ground floor room was a bit smaller than we had expected and a had less character than the room of the other member of our party.
Diner was excellent. Perhaps the best food we ever had in Bern (and we come often in this city). It was on the expensive side, but definitely worth it.
By contrast, breakfast was disappointing. It's 25 CHF per person (children pay full price) and it does not come with cooked food (except boil-it-youself eggs). If you want eggs it' an extra 7 CHF, if you want bacon or ham it's 10.50 CHF. I found it akind of mean for a 4-star hotel...
That my recomendation which I send before my arrival was done.
The furniture needs to be changed.
Cosy & spacious rooms Good food & drink Good view of the city from the terrace Decent internet Jazz room within hotel Good choice of tv channels Easy to get to
Located outside Bern on a hill, with easy access into town, the bus stops right outside hotel. This "jazz" hotel was charming, decorated with jazz paintings and memorabilia. Though there were no live jazz concerts, jazz played throughout the hotel at just the perfect sound level. Our room was comfortable, as was our bed and the bathroom was beautiful. The wi-fi was erratic as was the coffee/tea maker. The dining room was very pretty with a terrific view of the city. The food was good if expensive. But everything in Switzerland is expensive.
The hotel staff was friendly but service was erratic. The front desk was often left unmanned. An attendant couldn't show me how to use the coffee maker. My waiter in the dining room couldn't translate any of the items on the menu and didn't give me the English menu (We discovered it existed a day later!) But all in all, a lovely hotel, good value and would stay there again.
The jazz theme and the history of the hotel...a real lively energy in the restaurant plus a lovely welcome drink ! And the jazz club ;)
I ate pretty much all that they offered--a piece of bread with ham and cheese, one little coffee and a scoop of bierchemusli--eggs were an extra 7 francs...there was not even apple juice, just standard bottled juices--one franc in the supermarket--no additional coffee was offered and the price for this was....(drum roll please) 50 FRANCS!!!!! $52.50!!!! Come on!! There is no reason to charge that much!!
- wide free parking area - good restaurant and delicious food - old histories and jazz music - especially, quick attitude to customer's complain : we found dead bug under the pillow next morning, and we strongly complain this to reception. The staff visited our room and took quick/reasonable action for our complain. Though we had bad experience, we thanks for hotel's prompt apology and actions, including supervisor's little present/farewell till we get in the car.
room condition need to be more modern and clean
Wonderfully stylized hotel, near a park and with Jazz theme
Wifi is rather poor
The Panorama view and outdoorspace . Breakfast very Suisse really Good . Dinner more fair than good. Best Ravioli . Quite noisy some planes and Frequently Busses but ok . Rooms with enough Space High ceilings
Dinner more fair than Good Best Ravioli Noisy but ok Staffservice Good some fair
Very luxurious room. Beautiful hotel . The views from the dining are great. Staff where very helpful
Workers where on scaffold outside our windows. No privacy in our bathroom. I was in shower and couldn't get out because worker was working on window and could look in. I know work has to be done, but our privacy should be considered.
A famous traditional hotel in Bern. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. Good decoration in the room.
The rooms were spacious and very comfortable and we had a lovely view on the old town of Bern and the Alps. The hotel has a lot of atmosphere and it's wonderful to sit in the lounge after shopping in Bern and enjoy a nice drink with atmospheric Jazz music! It was our second stay at this hotel and we loved it again and can only warmly recommend it!
Kind staff and good location they served free bus ticket for convenience
Walking distance from centrum (15 to 20 min), good restaurant, quiet room, free parking
WiFi is not free, breakfast is not included in the room price,
everything, somethings more than others.
terrasse and view food jazz style 20's furniture
poor night bell service
Innere Enge is a true charme hotel. It is awsome. Both the reception and the restaurant staff are extremely kind and efficient. The room was big, charmy, romantic and comfortable. The hotel includes a jazz house, with concerts. Our dog was welcome also in the restaurant. Moreover a bus directly stops in front of the hotel max every 10 minutes.
I liked: - the jazz theme. - the vintage furniture and faucets.
I did not like: - it took 5 - 10 minutes to find somebody to check me in. The bartender keep referring to a woman who simply was not there. I finally found the manager in the restaurant. Anyway.. I was late for a meeting because of it. - There is a way to look "vintage" without looking obsolete. Vintage means thought, care, and empathy went in to designing the customer experience. Obsolete is a result of apathy. Some of the objects in the room, for example, the telephone and TV, give that outdated, apathetic impression. - Street noise. My room was right on the street. With the window open, the street noise was too much until after 1am. With the window closed, it because too hot. I would not pay more than CHF 150 for this room. Thankfully, I didn't.
Nice room very spacious and park around the hotel
Breakfast choice a bit limited
It is a nice Hotel just outside the Old Town and close to City Center. The surrounding area is a lovely park and pleasant view. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful.
The Wi-Fi is very poor.
it's a little outside the city but it's 30 minutes walking to downtown, yet it feels that you are in the country.
Nice single room and quite.
all rooms with individual themes. the whole hotel has the theme JAZZ. Excellent taste. The view of the city and the mountainsof Berner Oberland are breathtaking. Boutique hotel of highest level.
mbe a garage would be useful. But there is parking sopace.
