Friendly staff

Room had view of wall. Window in room to garden had been blocked up. Decor of hotel was very dour. Restaurant felt like a school dining room. No English channels on TV.

Hotel is partial for shopping all in walking distance

Hotel needs a good relooking

This was my 4th stay at this excellent hotel. That says it all. Had forgotten the website info. so went through you. i usually make own reservations.

Good, friendly and efficient staff, Great food and hotel tastfully decorated, furnished and maintained. Well located almost on the lakeside.

Room was an 'economy' and as such was very basic indeed. Some of the more expensive rooms with lake views are much better.

Great location, a real feeling of an elegant hotel, pleasant public rooms including a reading room.

Location, is in the center of the city, but a quite far from the train station. The hotel is very beautiful, comfortable. The breakfast is perfect.

It's a nice hotel with more than hundred years history, but renovated. Located in the city centrum and offer own paid parking. Good breakfast. Clean but small rooms and too expensive.

Rooms small and very dated - and for a 3 star hotel very expensive. Internet connection in the room for which you have to pay was unusable due to frequent disconnections.

The location is convenient for those who wish to move around the town as most of the tourist places are walking distance. The staff are very friendly and helpful

We were very disappointed with the kind of room we were given. although it had a partial lake view, the room itself was just a bed and bathroom with not any other space available. even the tiny balcony could accommodate just one chair. For a price of CHF 200/night, i found the hotel no value for money at all.

Everything was okey and the breakfast was good.

Lakefront location--well situated on Lugano's lakefront promenade. View from lakeside rooms is beautiful. Enjoyed the "old world" feel and the historical sense about the hotel. The pool area is quite nice--secluded. Friendly staff at reception desk. Parking available under the hotel.

Best thing was the location. Breakfast was good too.

Needed some maintenance. The bathroom faucets dripped, and the shower head wouldn't stay up and almost dropped on my toe.

good location. near the train station, being close to center of the town, and being on the lake. not all of the rooms are with lake view. make sure when booking.

It was a beautiful hotel with a very nice room and friendly staff. We loved the location. The morning breakfast was very good.

It was a very easy place to stay in, the staff were unobtusively efficient - the cleaners! They put us all in rooms together, right next to the patio/pool, so it was lovely and easy to go from room to outside and back again. The pool area was a perfect place to relax in,a delightful garden and lots of space for everyone to have their own space. The rooms were absolutely fine, good value, good bathrooms, lovely balcony views. Charming! The breakfasts were out of this world - so much quanitity , variety and quality. Lovely central location. Gorgeous church next door and lake views. The construction works next door were an eyesore, but not the hotel's fault.

We kept missing the timing for lunch orders and would have liked the 'window' to have beeen a little longer. All the waiters were lovely except for one elderly one who didn't look that happy to be there! The safe in room 223 was faulty and repeatedly broke and we had to keep getting help: the guy who came to help us refused to accept that it was broken, and kept (rather patronisingly) insisting that we didn't know how to work it! But these are minor little things, not really complaints.

The reception staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, going out of their way to see when our room would be ready, double checking with housekeeping, offering options for us in the hotel (library/bar on second floor; pool area) as we waited; and spending at least a half hour with us "mapping" out a day's sightseeing, including providing us with the necessary tickets. I have spent many nights in hotels throughout Europe and cannot remember a friendlier or more helpful staff. Thank you!

I don't think it was clear to me that I wouldn't be charged for the room until we departed from the hotel, because I believe a non- cancellable room reservation typically is charged at the time of the reservation. This arrangement could have been made clearer, as it caused me some distress.

It was a wonderful hotel with amazing service - it felt like home. The position is great, the facilities at the hotel are fantastic but most of all it was the best service I have seen in a hotel in a long time. I ended up staying longer than planned and I intend to return lots more times.

The staff is really friendly and very helpful. The location is excellent. The owner visited everyone at their table and was very kind and polite.

The room furnishing was a bit dated but perhaps thats part of the charm.

This hotel is over 100 years old and family owned. The interior is mainly dark panel wood and renovation has not destroyed its ambience. Location is opposite the lake and at the start of the (expensive!) shopping arcade. Staff are very professional and friendly and many seem to have been there for a long time. Swimming pool is small and located in the garden and probably needs more sun loungers. There is an underground secure garage. Attracts a more mature/elderly guest but it excellent value for money.This is my second visit and I have been satisfied on both occasions.

Lovely hotel situated in the heart of Lugano close to all the 'designer' shops.

This time the car parking was a bit shambolic. We were parked on the first floor and when we returned to the car park for an early start, we found our car was hemmed in by other cars. The staff came to move the cars but a great deal of manoeuvering was required and when we arrived at ground floor level I had to reverse out of the car park and up the ramp.

Most of all I liked friendly staff of the hotel and a very helpfull service. The room was small but comfortable. Splendid interior.

Excellent location close to everything. Staff very helpful and the pool area was a big plus in a heatwave. Breakfast was good. No complaints and would recommend.
