Hotel Restaurant La Furca

La Furca is a husband & wife-run, comfy, basic, but not spartan, very homely hotel. It is a good 3* hotel. It is only 1 minute walk from Disentis train station - literally across the road. It is right next to the post office and in the centre of the village - only a few minutes walk from the monastery, church, other hotels and few bars, ATMs and mini-mart - which is around just one corner. The bedroom was a good double bedroom, with lots of space around the bed and a table, chair, wardrobe, coat-stand and lots more floor space. It's bigger and better than dbl bedrooms in most modern houses! Every bedroom also has a decent balcony overlooking the valley, meadows and mountains far on the other side - a perfect, beautiful setting. Bathroom was small and brown, dreary, 1970s tiles - typical in German-speaking hotels and homes, oddly. But, it was big enough and clean. Staff are very friendly: husband and wife owners, who also cook dinner. The waitress was very friendly and fun, and so too the breakfast waiter. It has a simple, colourful, homely restaurant and bar, with a nice terrace for breakfast overlooking the train station and valley. Restaurant and bar are nice, relaxed, homely places. Locals seem to go for dinner often and a group of old mates played cards and chatted in the bar area in the evenings, (as the village doesn't seem to have a pub!) These old geezers were friendly and chatted to me, too. I would very much recommend this hotel, if you want a good, comfy, 3* hotel that is good VFM by Swiss costly prices.

I ate one dinner: the starters of soup and capons were fresh, flavourfull and good. The main course - roasted chicken and veggie - would have tasted good, if fresh... But, they were clearly microwaved! Plus I heard the microwave bell ring just before my main course was served - and I was the only person in there, (it was 10pm). For the cost of c.25 francs this is disgraceful! I asked for this to be taken off the bill, but the owners said it wasn't m-waved and so wouldn't remove it. This is a serious error.

Very close to railway station and town centre. Excellent breakfast and eveving meal menu. They were happy to provide an early breafast for me, as I needed an early start on the day I left. Very modest room price.

There is no lift, not a problem for me, but it may be for some.

Made very welcome on arrival,room 21 on south (sunny) side of hotel,lovely views.We were travelling using a 4 day Swiss Pass,so we were only 100 yards from the railway station and postbus stop.Great centre for using trains and buses to explore alpine passes.Plenty of well marked walking. Must have a look in the baroque chapel of the huge abbey behind the hotel Altho' overlooking the railway,no problem with noise as only 2 trains per hour,last one quite early Excellent buffet breakfest,and the meals we ate in the resturant were also excellent and very well presented.we stayed 3 nights,wish we were still there..

We stayed here as part of a driving tour of the great roads of Austria, Switzerland and Italy. The hotel was centrally located and the room was clean and comfortable. We appreciated the wonderful view from the balcony (the railway station with mountains beyond) and the excellent breakfast. We ate a wonderful meal at the nearby Hotel Alpsu. I would recommend Hotel la Furca.

Be aware that there is no lift. Not a problem for us, but we were glad we'd organised ourselves the night before to take in only a small bag.

Très, très aimable hospitalité (accueil, conseils, ...) et cuisine très appréciée (les capuns étaient excellents). A recommander vivement.

Accueil très chaleureux, personnel souriant. Un petit hôtel sympa, calme et bien situé. Excellent rapport qualité/prix.

Hotelul este mic, insa curat, iar proprietarii sunt foarte amabili si ospitalieri. Se mananca foarte bine in restaurant, iar servirea este foarte amabila. De asemenea, ne-a placut foarte mult micul dejun. Desi este amplasat langa gara si in ciuda a ceea ce sustin altii, cum ca ar fi galagios, trenurile circula numai pana la primele ore ale serii, respectiv dimineata. Am avut camera spre strada, dar ne-am odihnit foarte bine. Un hotel recomandabil!

L'accueuil vraiment sympatique..en français ,souriant ,décontracté et quasi familial. Des bouteilles d'eau minérales nous sont offertes, la chambre est spacieuse, du rangement à disposition. La propreté "à la Suisse" on aime !! la possibilité de prendre un excellent repas dans le restaurant de l'hotel avec spécialités des Grisons.

Je cherche.... Ah oui..il n'y a pas d'ascenceur mais comme nous sommes des randonneurs ,pas de problème !

Die noch nicht renovierten Zimmer sind schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen; die Nachttischlampen sind recht schummrig, zum Lesen etwas zu wenig Licht.

sehr familiärer Kontakt zu den Beitzern. Freundlichkeit! Gutes Restaurant mit sehr reichhaltigem Menue-Angebot. Sehr freundliches Service-Personal! Für eine geschäftliche Uebernachtung war das Zimmer mehr als gut eingerichtet. Balkon / Flachbild-TV / Dusche mit Duschkabine / gute Betten. Also ausgezeichnet auch für Kurzaufenthalte. Entgegenkommenderweise konnten wir bereits ab 07.00h frühstücken. TOLL, Danke!

Die Ruhe und das Angebot stimmte für uns. Alle waren sehr freundlich und hilfsberet. La Furca ist zu empfehlen.

Les Patrons sont sympathiques et serviables. Nous étions juste de passage.

Camere hotel datate e mancanza di ascensore,in ogni caso visto l'ottima accoglienza lo consiglio io personalmente ci ritornerò.

Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Prijs-kwaliteit zeer goed. Ligt vlak bij het station van Disentis. We kregen zelfs flesjes water mee voor het verder zetten van de reis.

Geen lift in het hotel. Badkamer is aan vernieuwing toe. Tapijt is slecht voor allergie.

Propriétaires et personnel très sympas et présents pour leurs hôtes. Arrangeants et généreux. Plats régionaux très fins et bons. Hôtel propre bien tenu et calme situé en plein centre.

Accueil chaleureux et ambiance familiale. Proximité avec la gare et l'Abbaye de Disentis.

Un ascenseur serait un plus, mais pas indispensable.

Sehr freundliches Personal, geduldig und gesprächig. Insgesamt eine sehr gute Atmosphäre - zum Wohlfühlen. Es gab ein gutes Speisenangebot in sehr guter Qualität. Vielen Dank dem Ehepaar, welches das Hotel führt und diese gute und familiäre Atmosphäre ausstrahlt. Wir haben bei unserer Abreise das Ehepaar wissen lassen, daß wir bei Bedarf nicht nach einem anderen Hotel suchen würden, sondern uns wieder im "La Furca" anmelden werden.

Es gab nichts zu beanstanden.
