Landgasthaus Löwen  

This is the place we use for an overnight stay when leaving Zurich by air the next morning: it is 35 minutes from the airport on AutoRoute 1. the rooms are simple but comfortable; our room could have used one more light, and a hair-dryer [but we didn't ask the desk for one, since my wife didn't need one] the main reason to come here is the chef Angelo Moroni--a famous chef who has worked at the Kulm, Savoy, and major restaurants in Spain. Fish and Spanish dishes are highlighted, but there is excellent country food as well--we just had a superb kalbshaxen. the dinners are expensive, but fairly priced, with an excellent wine selection.

this was for an overnight stay with dinner, with an early flight from Zurich the next day. we booked a nice modern room for CHF 130 double; it is less than 1/2 hour from the airport, and the biggest bonus is a fine chef and staff. Angelo Meloni has worked at the Kulm, London Savoy, Paris Ritz, and many years in Spain. He offers some fine Spanish specialties and wine, but also the "gasthaus" specialties. the area is rural and quiet, formerly the center in Switzerland for horses and training, the town Elgg. The food is not cheap, but still good value.

you might want to have a room in the back off the street, since there was some street noise. also not sure of how hot/cool it could be in very hot weather: we stayed the night of August 29 and it was very cool. we did not pay the hotel for parking, which is easily available close by.

Ubicación muy cerca del aeropuerto de Zürich (media hora), el dueño muy servicial, limpio, buen restaurante y buen ambiente de pueblo.

L'accueil et la cuisine avec des produits locaux et de très bonne qualité.

Chambre trop sonore

Très bon accueil. L'hotel est confortable et le panorama à l'entour est très agréable. A mi chemin de St Gall et Winterthur, à 5 minutes de l'autoroute.

Das Zimmer war uralt. In der Dusche Schimmel. Die Matratze durchgelegen.

Der Wirt, Angelo Meloni, ist nicht nur ein ausgezeichneter Koch, er und sein Team tun auch alles, dass sich die Gäste wie zu Hause fühlen.
