Since 1896, the Hôtel Le National has provided comfortable accommodation in the heart of the mountain village of Champéry in the Valais Alps. Tastefully renovated with a lift, it provides beautiful views of the Dents-du-Midi and the Dents Blanches.

Decorated in white, the elegant rooms are fitted with light wood door frames and furnishings. Large windows and a balcony present beautiful mountain views. All rooms have a TV and a private bathroom.

Hôtel Le National is a 5-minute drive from the thermal baths of Val d'Illiez. The hotel is near the ski lifts and mountain bike terrains of Les Portes du Soleil, and the climbing areas of Barme and the Via Ferrata de Tière. Cointrin Airport in Geneva is 59 km away.

Fine wines and regional cuisine can be enjoyed in the warm dining room. A special dish offered is Raclette, a cheese dish melted over fire, served in the carnotzet room.

Free Wi-Fi is provided in public areas, as well as free parking. The hotel also has a library and meeting facilities.

Les Portes du Soleil is one of the largest ski areas in the world. It is located in the Alps, between Mont Blanc in France and Lake Geneva in Switzerland, just 1 hour from Geneva International Airport.

This region includes the 8 French ski resorts of Abondance, Avoriaz, Châtel, La Chapelle d'Abondance, Les Gets, Montriond, Morzine and Saint-Jean-d’Aulps. There are also 5 Swiss resorts: Champéry, Morgins, Val d’Illiez, Les Crosets and Champoussin.

Well-linked by road and slopes, some of the resorts are picturesque towns with pretty chalets, while some have more modern buildings. In the region you will also find 10 snow parks and 90 on-slope restaurants. Summer activities include hiking and mountain biking.

We had an excellent dinner on Sylvester and enjoyed the festive and relaxed atmosphere. The room had a nice balcony with good views of the mountains. The room was basic and rather small. Being off-season, the restaurant was closed.
