Personally, we missed the ability to brew a tea or coffee in the room, (now the usual provision in the UK)but we fully understand the Management's choice to provide these facilities in the Guest Lounge, where even a microwave and communal fridge are provided: in other words, drink and food is welcomed in the lounge, but not up in the rooms, so it's probably safest that way for all guests.
A previous reviewer thought that the buffet breakfast provided was not enough quantity; but in our experience throughout Europe, when such a breakfast is provided, the Lotschberg's quantity, quality, and readiness of staff to re-supply on request is well up to standard and MOST people should find it perfectly satisfactory.
The staff are very ready to be of assistance with questions about Interlaken: we followed their advice for a good local traditional restaurant and were not disappointed (allow time at that dining venue, as bears don't walk very fast, but their cuisine is very tasty!!). Corner room very pleasant and quiet with very little traffic at side road junction; beds comfortable, though for a retired-age visitor, they could be maybe 15cm/6" higher ! (Don't worry if your knees are good !! ).
