Our cozy hotel is located in the car-free zone in the center of Appenzell in eastern Switzerland. We offer comfortable rooms, including 9 typical Appenzeller rooms decorated with traditional wall paintings, a restaurant serving Swiss cuisine and quiet seminar rooms. The hotel is ideal for small groups and individual travelers and is also a very good starting point for hikers. Hotel Rooms: 28, Hotel Chain: Swiss Budget Hotels.

The hotel was in the center of twon about 200 yards from the banhauf. Easy to get to and use for a central point. Staff were always ready to help and very friendly. Breakfast was delightful and they even served us early the morning we had to leave early. Took several day trips using the free railway pass card the hotel gave us. It was expensive. We checked every restaurant in town - they all had roughly the same menu and it was way over-priced. Every expensive to eat - no small places to eat at night - you had to eat at the restaurants.

Das wunderschöne traditionsreiche Restaurant und die gute Küche, die familiäre Athmosphäre, die Ruhe, die Nähe zum Bahnhof, die Lage in der heimeligen Stadtmitte von Appenzell.

Sehr freundliches Personal, Essen sehr gut, Zimmer sehr sauber, optimal gelegen direkt an der Haupgasse und nur 5 Min. zu Fuss vom Bahnhof entfernt. Die Zimmereinrichtung ist nicht auf dem neuesten Stand, dies stört aber nicht, weil alles sehr sauber ist.

Excellent location, just on the pedestrian area, surrounded by shops, restaurants and cafes. Very friendly staff and outstanding breakfast. Not necessarily about Hotel Lowen, but generally hotels in Switzerland are a bit too expensive.
