Hotel Monte Pettine

The breakfast was good. The staff were pleasant.

Care - This hotel is not as advertised. It is in effect a bar with rooms ; it did not have a functioning restaurant (despite a neon sign outside advertising that it had!) , they did not take cards for payment (although they accepted Euros and in all fairness gave me a good rate of exchange). We stayed in 8 hotels overnight and this was the most expensive room and the least good, but with Swiss prices this was to be expected. The proprietor and his lady assistant were nice and he recommended a good pizza restaurant in the village for an evening meal, so things turned out ok in the end.

Nos ha gustado todo en este hotel, la ubicación , la limpieza, el desayuno, y sobre todo la hospitalidad recibida por el propietario. Muy recomendable.

Vriendelijke gastheer, lekker ontbijt, met warme croissants. Vlakbij snelweg /st gotthard.

Simple hotel near the Gotthardroute (Switzerland/Italy). Don't expect a lot of confort, the rooms are a bit "old-fashioned" but clean. An ideal low budget hotel (low budget if you compare with other hotels in Switzerland, in comparison with other European countries it's still expensive) if you are travelling along the Gotthard route (Switzerland/Italy). Good breakfast with coffee/tea (and steamed milk!), orange juice, yoghurt, croissants, bread, jam. The owner of the hotel is a very friendly man who is willing to help you, so very good reception.

There are no restaurants in the neighbourhood of the hotel. If you arrive in the evening, the only possibility to eat something is the Agip service station near the a2 highway. You can acces this service station also by the local road. The service station has a restaurant with buffet but don't expect great value for the money, it's the classic highway food...
