Location, value for money, fine breakfast
Nothing to report
the size of the room the noise of the redecorating
Near to train station
The room is a bit old
Location was great - 2-5 min to the train station, depending on which entrance.
1. Hotel is OLD. Everything seems to crumble, the floor squeaks awfully, walls are paper thin ... 2. It is currently under renovation. This means at 7AM they already start making noise!! 3. The buffet breakfast is one of the poorest I have had at any hotel. One type of cheese, one type of eggs, one type of juice, etc 4. Price. Even though this is Switzerland and everything is expensive you don't get value for your money
Fantastic position and easy to get around.
Lack of personal toiletries eg shampoo and conditioner as found in hotels with much lower tariff.
Location excellent for those traveling by train. Quite economical (family of four 2adults + 2children). Breakfast included. Cool "old school" elevator.
Remodeling going on while we stayed. Tripping hazards and lots of dust in hallway.
The locatio is perfect, just a few minutes walk from the main train station and the old town. The hotel staff was quite friendly and helpful. The most important thing - everything was very clean and tiny.
Liked the complementary drink as an opportunity to meet fellow travellers
not far from the central station!
Good location to whom arrive in Bern by train.
It seems to be a family business run hotel. There were one young gentle lady in the afternoon and a nice polite guy at night. Ladies during the day were arrogant and unpleasantly staring on people (including myself) and their belongs. The breakfast is very poor. I would go to Piazza, a coffee place in front of the hotel to have another breakfast. The walls of the hotel are very old and noisy. I could hear someone snoring all night while I was in my room. The bathroom outside my bedroom smelled very bad during the three days I was there. During the day, I was bored by cleaning staff who awaked me in the afternoon. Next morning, someone else called my name through the patio window until I awake, just to verify if I was in the bedroom… They seemed curious busy people with hosts' life. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you are a discreet person and like privacy. They also start renovating some dependencies of the hotel. So it has an extra sort of noise at all time…
Location, able to leave bags early so you can go sight seeing. Windows open to allow breeze in.
Breakfast was basic, check in staff were stuffy, no croissant
Even in the rain, we had no trouble dragging our roller-bags from the railway. The caged elevator meant we didn't have to worry about the stairs. While the room was spare (but clean) the halls and stairways were full of charm. We would stay again.
The hotel offered us a "complimentary drink" on arrival. But both times we were in the restaurant, we waited a LONG time to be served.
location staff cleanliness
pillows - too soft - flattened to nothing! a little pricy but so are all hotels in Switzerland
Excellent location near train station, walking distance to main town and other attractions Breakfast has eggs
There was constructions going on in floor 4, very noisy from 9-7pm. The lift only go up to floor 4 out of 5. Our room has view of other rooms :( Room is hot as no AC and minimal air circulation A bit expensive in my opinion, probably standard price in Bern
We were in a small twin room with no air con, and although the window opened into a central open space in the building there was no air movement. It was hot and humid and no way to make it more comfortable, not even a fan. The building was being renovated, and so we had to go the bathroom on a different floor. I am sure that when the renovation is completed it will be great, but I can't recommend it at the moment.
the room is ok.
the breakfast is too simple. when we stay the hotel was doing decoration, the ugly smell everywhere.
Location. Literally 2 mintes from train station. Facilities.
It can be noisy because of the theater.. However, the noise is till 10 pm approximately. A little bit expensive for what it offers. Howerver, it is Switzerland; be prepared to pay high costs.
Hotel easy to find from station and very friendly staff. Rooms newly decorated and very comfy.
Bern very quiet on a Saturday night.
Location was good and the staff friendly. Was able to get a room with a balcony to the outside. Streets are noisy until around 1:30 am, but since the hotel does not have air conditioning this was better than the rooms facing a small interior courtyard. Breakfast was adequate, the standard bread, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, & muesli. Antique elevator was a nice touch. All in all, the accommodations were in keeping for the price paid for lodging in the city.
I liked the firm bed, but would have enjoyed either a larger pillow or two pillows per guest. The bathroom could have smelled fresher.
Breakfast was wonderful! Staff was helpful and friendly. Great location.
Bathrooms were not completed on our floor. Our room was hot, and there was no fan or air conditioning.
Location is good Bus&tram stop is on the front of the hotel
The elevator is not comfortable
Very close to the railway station. Not far from the old town of Bern.
The elevator just up to 4th floor and we have to walk to the 5th floor with a big luggage.
Staff was nice, close to train station
Very stark and basic rooms, small dark shared bathrooms, older bedding and furniture, wifi didn't work well. Not very 'hotel' like at all, more akin to a mediocre hostel, not good value for money.
Great location, at 10 min from the train station.
Everything, except the bathrooms, looked a little bit too old.
