The hotel is located in an excellent spot with very nice view . The staff was very helpful and kind . There was no elevator and we wer with a small kid |

We enjoyed the view at the lake but at this time there were no activities at all in this place, it was a quiet place its like living in a place without people !!! however if you are looking for a quiet place to spend a romantic time I highly recomend it. it is a way far from the city center! without a car it would be a waste of time! The hotel staff leave at 7PM and you have to wait until 7AM the next day in case you need any service! it looks quite unsafe at the night "no security" and the entrance doors was open, though we didn't face any incident there. they don't have an AC but you can open the windows since the weather is cold,as for us we couldn't do that because of the bugs and the insects! I left the hotel the second day to another hotel in the city center of Interlaken which was much better than this hotel!! filled with life and people,enjoyed spending the time between the Restaurant and the shopping area.I highly recommend Metropole hotel, it's a 4 star hotel and value of money. |

Reception staff very good, restaurant experience variable, sometimes good, sometimes slow and disappointing. Food good though. The room had very old-fashioned furniture, and very ugly tiling in the bathroom. From the 1970's or earlier, it became very hot at night on second floor, with no fans or air conditioning. Beds not very comfortable, mosquitoes at night. We slept badly twice. All in all a nice location, and historic building, but what have the owners been doing with the profits all these years? Certainly not investing in comfortable room furniture, although the restaurant and bar areas were modern enough. Everything other than the room seemed ok though, although I did wait 1.5 hours for a meal one night, which felt too long, even though I agreed to be served after the children. |

The location of the hotel was good, close to the lake and few minutes to town. The breakfast was excellent as well as the morning view by the lake while having BF. The room furniture was very old especially the bed. It caused my wife a severe back pain and we didn’t have good sleep at night. |

Location, next to the lake. Free parking. The restaurant was good. The (double) room felt a little small, but it must be because the building itself is quite old. |

the location, it is by the lake, and neer by a streem only 3 minutes from the streem, lots of activity in or near by the hotel, I think the hotel would be nice with lake vews rooms (delux room) rooms were old style, we have 3 rooms two of which with small windows ,and only one room have a side veiw of the lake, and i was told this is because I booked standard room not delux room |

Excellent location on Lake Thunersee. Lots to do and see and very close to Interlaken. Nice room with balcony overlooking the lake. Very enjoyable. The need to cut the Golf course greens and the hedges were a little too early for our liking. The noise from the tractors at 0700 cut short our sleep time. |

The staff were friendly and helpful; food at the hotel restaurant was fantastic and the location of the hotel couldn't be any better. We were impressed by the surroundings. |

Close access to lake and ability to do water sports . Plus close access to nature walks.Eating area was good. The room, in the old building above the dining area, was very basic, with old mattress, need for a second pillow, and no air conditioning.TV was very old.Upstairs lounge had a newer one but whole room was uninviting given the age of everything else in that room. My partner described it as a old guest house style. It was noisy(even with window closed).For what we paid, I was disappointed. |

The rooms are big but not very modern, comfortable. The hiking trails are beautiful and there is a lot to do if you enjoy the outdoors. |

Great view of the lake The room was terrible, dirty, full of bugs (flies and ants), outdated 70's style furniture. The sheets were dirty and we had to ask for them to be changed. We checked out two days earlier than planned. |

The restaurant has a modern look, although the meals are pricey. The setting by the lake is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are very outdated and need to be renovated asap - it is like travelling back in time. It's unfortunate, because of the beautiful setting |
