Family-run guesthouse Ökohof Schönegrund is a short drive from the Adelboden-Lenk ski region and within walking distance of the train station. It offers spacious rooms with wooden décor. Part of the Ökohof consists of a farm with cows, ponies and other animals. At the rich breakfast, you can try homemade cheese. From December until Easter you can also order the half board. Packed lunches can be provided from Easter to December. Ökohof Schönegrund features a spacious lounge area with books, games for children and adults, satellite TV and ping-pong. It has a terrace and a fireplace. There is a tent on the grounds as well as barbecue facilities. The facility was very neat and clean and user-friendly. It is more like a hostel than hotel and priced accordingly. The room was cozy and the beds comfortable. Anna, the host, was warm and accommodating. She made you welcome from the start. Her breakfast was over-the-top with fresh raspberries from her garden. The walls are thin so noise from others is distinct (e.g., someone walking down the hall and the floorboards creak sometimes).

Great location in a little town - very beautiful views around. Rooms are comfortable and clean, breakfast is tasty, owners and stuff are very friendly and helpful. And there are cute little lambs, horses, rabbits, chickens... Very quiet and peaceful place. It was a pleasure staying there and I hope to stay there again.

absolut ruhige Lage. Herzliche, unkompliziertes einchecken. Sehr grosses heimeliges Zimmer, riesige Dusche, ansprechende Platten. Frühstück reichhaltig und sehr lecker, mit teils selbst gebackenem Brot und Zopf. Aufmerksame, freundliche Bedienung. Im Ökohof Schönegrund wird Gastfreundschaft gelebt. Kann ich weiter empfehlen und werde ich selbst wieder mal besuchen.

Die Bewertung ist im Verhältnis zum Angebot zu verstehen. Wir haben eine einfache Unterkunft gesucht und gefunden. Die familiäre Atmosphäre, z.B. auch beim Frühstück (alle Gäste an einem grossen Tisch) hebt sich für uns positiv vom sterilen Hotelbetrieb ab.

We were very disappointed - struggling to think of anything we liked. The fruit preserves served at breakfast were quite good as was the sliced bread. The tea and coffee were also acceptable. Also there was a small refrigerator in a sparsely furnished common room where we could store milk for our young child. We had a terrible experience from beginning to end. First, the owner informed us, seeing our disappointment in the room we were assigned, that we could have paid far less if we had called her directly instead of using booking.com. That left us with a bad taste in our mouth from the outset. Second, the room had a very low ceiling (approx. 7 feet), no fan, and no screens on the windows. The room was unbearably hot (roughly 90 degrees f). About 30 flies swarmed in when we opened the windows for fresh air. We spent the first hour killing roughly 20 flies. By then, we couldn't find the owner or we would have left. We spent a miserable night, unable to sleep because of the flies buzzing around our heads and the heat in the room. Third, on checkout, we were told there was no way to get back to town than to walk down with our luggage (in the rain). The owners then drove right past us on the road to the village as we lugged bags and our young child - they waved but didn't even slow down to offer a lift into the village center in their large Jeep. Finally, we came home to find a confirmation email, quoting a lower rate than we were paid. In other words, the owners charged us the commission that they pay to booking.com on top of the fee they quoted to booking.com There are lovely hotels in the village center - choose one of them instead. We had a miserable experience.
