In the pedestrian zone in the heart of Lucerne, right at the historic Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge), where the Reuss river leaves Lake Lucerne, you will find the pretty Hotel Des Alpes.
Score from 855 reviews Very good
Room is too small
location is excellent and clean. hove a really good vie on the river and historical bridge.
the bar is noisy till late night. room is not isolated.
Close to tran station and in the heart of Lucerne. Located above restaurant. Wifi is good. The staff were friendly and let us leave our luggage while we toured the city. Nice votes of use river from room.
Checkin is not separate, it's at the bar
Location and staff is very good
Not good for family stay
The location is unbeatable The room was clean Very good price The balcony is ideal
The room was very basic Not recommended for those suffering from claustophobia A bit noicy
Very good location where you can overlook Chapel Bridge, it's also just 5 mins away from the train station. Got a nice balcony in my room where I can sit and relax (some other rooms have balconies as well but they are very small where you can only stand). Friendly staff and clean room. Have an electric kettle in room too.
We loved our room with a beautiful view and had an amazing stay. The staff was super helpful, and we really appreciated the laundry room!
This hotel was very well situated. It had very easy access from the train station just walking 5 minutes or so. Being located right on the river was a bonus - nice and close for an easy stroll around, and with many restaurants to choose from on the promenade. The room was very simply furnished, but that's all we needed for one night. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Ask for a room facing the river.
There was a little noise from the pub downstairs, but this would not deter me from returning to this hotel.
We went with very low expectations - a pub with rooms sounded like an inn really. But we were pleasantly surprised. The location could not get any better - 7mins to the station, in the old town facing the river, 5 mins to the lake. Many places to eat and drink. Each room has a balcony overlooking the river flowing below you, the lake on the left and the beautiful mountains and hills around. The check in happens in the pub itself. But really nice staff. They have lifts so the floor doesn't matter, higher the better. The rooms were not luxurious but, that was not something we were looking for. They were clean, newly refurbished, wooden floor, a good sized room with a little alcove that had a large built in cupboard, hanging space and a safe deposit box. The bathrooms were again a good size. It did not have a budget hotel feel. I would rate them higher than an Ibis for example. Everything was a walk away. They do have an entry separate from that of the pub as well, which was really nice. The wifi worked very well. It is in the heart of town so obviously there is a lot of hustle bustle in the day, which we liked.
They had a kettle with cups in the room but no tea or coffee.
Amazing view of the wooden bridge from the room.
Views of the bridge Location in pedestrian zone Breakfast next door Security Quiet (no noise from pub even though we were only on 2nd floor)
Furnishings a bit spartan Linoleum floor No coffee/tea making in room
Looking out over the Reuss River and covered bridge in central Lucerne made you feel part of the secene even when relaxing after a day's sight-seeing. Most comfortable bed in Switzerland in a clean and spacious room. A real bonus, tea-making facilities.
Nothing - this hotel was a top spot.
Good location, helpful staff, the city is also very nice.
On the water-front, overlooking the historic chapel bridge. Lucerne is expensive but this was value-for-money. Ditto the fairly basic food, eating outside along the promenade.
Corridors a bit of a rabbit-warren. Parking in Lucerne very expensive, but cheap & convenient overnite parking tickets, 6pm to 11am, via the hotel staff. Hint: for the Golden Tour (ferry, cog railway, cablecars, bus), drive to the cablecar at Kriens first (cheap parking) to do the tour in reverse, ending with the ferry ride back to Lucerne. Then take the bus to collect car from Kriens after 6pm.
Nice hotel close to Luzern station. Right next to Chapel bridge, which is beautiful at night.
I wasn't sure where exactly I had to check in, so it'd be useful to provide some more info about this. If you check out early, you have to go to the reception in the first floor (there's no one in the pub that time) if you want to store your luggage; again it might be helpful to give some information. Price seemed a bit expensive to me.
Location was terrific - close to train station and my balcony faced the beautiful covered bridge. Very friendly staff and clean.
The shower container for soap fell off the wall and was not repaired during my visit
Location, helpful staff, laundry facilities
Room was ver small, it was good to have tea and coffee and jug BUThad no milk , so not useful
The location was superb. Rooms were very spacious and clean.
no breakfast...two single beds were pushed together so it was a bit uncomfortable.
Near the train station and city center. Great view of the river.
Noisy patrons in bar below. Double room was quite small. Pub food was expensive.
-Location -River View
-Lights are quite dim -Guests living on lower floor might be seen by the customers on the street
Room Quality No Room Service Poor Quality of Bedding Noisy Flooring Noisy Area
- Great location - Very clean - Friendly staff - Nice pub just downstairs - Comfortable stay - Good toiletries
- No breakfast option.
It's not a hotel , you get a poor quality of room to sleep with a view of Lake. Bedding is not comfortable to sleep. There is lot of noise from the street and even flooring is of such a low quality that make noise when you walk. Overall it's not value for money.
