I *loved* the spa. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, they even remembered my name and went the extra mile to give me assistance. The spa was clean, bright, fresh and relaxing. Views over the city were tremendous. Just about the best solo weekend stay I can remember. Nothing. Maybe it could have been 200m close to Messeplatz. :-)

The views It's at the Congress centre, a 15 minue walk from the old town. An easy hop on the tram, but not as central as I would normally choose. The hotel had no tea, or coffee making facilities, and the wellness centre dodn't open until 4pm in the afternoon.

The room had lots of light and sunshine, the beds were very comfortable. The lights of the bathroom are very pleasant and with its colour give a relaxing, cosy ambience. The staff was very friendly, also during the coffee breaks and the gala dinner of the conference. Delicious food and excellent coffee. The buffet bar in the lobby offers a good variety of snacks and food - a pity it was closed over the weekend. The conference facilities (Geneva 1-3) didi not perfectly suit the needs of our conference (long and fairly narrow room). It was nicely arranged for the gala dinner though.

Magnificent view from the 30th floor overlooking the whole of Basel. Staff very friendly. Room very modern & good colour scheme/design. The worst 'view' I've ever had staying in a hotel anywhere in the world so far! We were on the 5th floor, in room 503 and we were not warned that our big floor to ceiling window looked out directly on to a giant sloping upwards tin roof of the building right next door to us!!! The price should definitely be reduced for this floor and side of the hotel!! Because the Restaurant Filou was exceptionally closed (we had not been warned and it was a Saturday lunchtime!) we had to eat at the Sky Lounge on the 30th floor. We chose hamburgers which had obviously come out of the freezer as they tasted extremely processed...disappointing for a hotel of this caliber...

Note to the Swiss: a double bed is not two single mattresses pushed together. I found this particularly irritating.

The location of the hotel was very good. Also on arrival at the hotel we received a public transport ticket which allowed unlimited usage of the transport system in the area, i.e. trams and buses. The room was spotless and well equipped with toiletries etc and water was provided every day. There was a fridge in the room. Nice view of the city from the sky bar. We booked an executive double which was on the small side. There was a connecting room which was locked but you could hear everything in the adjoining room, which was a nuisance. No ipod docking station either.

Free internet access with good connection. I was told on arrival I would have to have a smoking room. The only way I could get a non smoking room was by upgrading at additional cost.

We were very nicely welcomed and our gps had given up so were talked in to the hotel and then upgraded without asking. The hotel on the whole presents a modern, clean, and sophisticated ambiance. The room was fabulous with all mod cons and the bed was extremely comfortable.

The breakfast buffet was amazing,really nice and friendly staff room service 24 hrs with great food also. The room itself was awesome and very clean. I would certainly stay there again!!

This hotel was close to the centre of Basel, you could walk in 20 mins or take a tram just outside the hotel. I was disappointed that the coffee shop in the reception area was never open.
