No elevator Dirty staircase Poor entrance
Kind welcome, quiet room in a house hidden in a small garden, yet close to many shops; accommodation is clean and practical.
Heating could be warmer when it is very cold outside, as it was the case when I came.
Pleasant, very helpful staff. We had studio apartment with separated bedroom, very comfortable set up, nice apartment size. Convenience location, quiet, with easy access 2 min to public transportation. 15 minutes walk to old town.Grocery stores, cafes and many others shops around.
Not easy find access to the apartment office when we wanted to get in.(Written notes on the entry door about accessing just in French language). Appartment/bulding environment needs a lot of update- old carpets, plumbing system ( not pleasant smell in the bathroom). No elevator, so travelers with big traveling bags better choose room lower floors.
When I arrived I did not know how to get into the buliding, how to get the key of the room. Only a neighbour was kind enough to help me, but it is just a coincidence. The hotel should inform booked guests beforehand!!!
The room is bigger than average, it basic but complete. No fuss, no worries.
Wi-Fi and parking are pretty expensive, when you have a room in the front, the smoke from the café down stairs gets in your room so you have to keep the window closed
Quiet location provided you are in the block at the rear of the property that we enjoyed. The simple room was as described on the website. The are windows to the front and side for good light and ventilation. Excellent instructions for locating and entering the accommodation. Good plumbing/ good water pressure etc. even through the bathroom is only a very compact ensuite, everything works. Clearly the main money saving benefit is being able to cook for yourself rather than go out for meals. This is made easy as there are 4 supermarkets within 2 minutes walk (inc a Lidl) Plus the main farmers market at Plainpalais is within easy walking distance. The very frequent No18 tram offers a direct connection to Geneva;s main railway station (Cornavin) and Augustin tram stop which is 2-3 minute walk to the front door. Finally the TV (circa 35 channels) offers more films (especially) in English than appears to be the case. As the TV audio button offers a second audio channel in English, rather than German or Italian (owners would do well to leave some instructions in the room for TV's with this facility).
Although our apartment had a very new looking Siemens oven, this simply did not heat up enough (however long you left it to preheat) The older 3 plate hob and somewhat elderly fridge worked perfectly. We did complain about the oven and were told housekeeping would look into it. However for our 9 nights the oven's poor performance meant roast dinners were off the menu. Although there is everything you need in terms of kitchen equipment, bare in mind it is the very minimum. For example, we bought a washing up bowl as there is no plug for the sink (it's not missing its designed that way). The charge of CHF 10 per night for internet is far too high, CHF2 per night would be more in line with the budget / unpretentious accommodation offered. These were the only negative things - provided you are happy with simplicity it is a good and comfortable budget choice.
Close in location to the university, shops, and cafes for your breakfast. Parking place was limited, but okay. The down-town of Geneva is in walking distance, and can be easily reached by public transportation too.
Extra (not mentioned) fees for the charge of the credit card (27,90 CHF). Our room was much smaller than the booked m2. The public staircase in the accommodation was really steep and narrow; none elevator was available.
Staff was very helpful. Theirs are nice sized apartments with a kitchenette. It was clean and big and kitchen was well equipped. Easy reachability to Geneva Train Station via tram 15.
5th floor without elevator. Entering the room it smelled of toilet (piss). House is in a lousy state (dingy). Area is a bit strange...
It was conveniently located
The pictures posted on booking.com were totally deceiving and did not reflect the state of the hotel. It was clean and there was plenty of space in the room but it hasn't been updated since the 70s! It is a run down dive that is hard to find the entrance to...
Room was clean value for money every thing worked price for what you get is fair.Compared to other hotels.Good location bank and stores are close.
Hotel is very old and was in the state of disrepair however didn't effect my stay.
big TV, location, clean, value for money
small room, reception closed on weekend
Self contained and located above a fantastic little Italian cafe called Spikisi ( speakeasy) run by a couple of Italian boys both named Francesco ..room was actually very comfortable and had all I wanted. Bathroom very good and safe included, wifi was extra ...
Read the instructions for address and access carefully in your bookings,,, hard to find office and if outside hours no reception so key will be in lockbox system. Email them and get good map and instruction.. Once you've done it no problems thereafter
It had all the things you needed for a short stay, and was very clean. Location was great, very easy to reach central Geneva. Staff were very helpful. Would recommend. As usual for Geneva though, it was pricy.
A few things could do with a revamp, for example the hot plate (it took ages to cook anything) and the hairdryer (which kept overheating itself).
- cooking possibility in room - cleanliness - location
- no tourist info brochures > even asking several times the staff didn't organised any - the light in the hallway was broken, so we asked the staff to fix it but nothing happened
I rented this room for my parents, and this is what they told me. The location was close to tram line 12 which got us downtown and there was a grocery store right next door. Very helpful reception got us a room on a lower floor for my dad who has trouble walking. Nice and quiet. The room facilities were very nice (microwave, stove, refridgerator, DVD player, etc...)
There are no elevators, but the stairs are also very narrow and steep for older people or those who don't get around well. Despite having the "please make up room" sign on the door, the housekeeping did not clean the room.
We stayed in a room on the second floor, which had kitchen facilities and a lovely big bed and clean bathroom. The TV was large, the room seemed really new and clean.
Although the rooms themselves were great, I didnt particularly like the area. There was graffiti around, and it just didnt seem like a quality place (we certainly didnt leave the rooms late at night).
Cleanliness of room & central location
Approach via dark courtyard Poor carpet & decor in hall & landing.
perfect place for the price and location
Clean, helpful staff, comfortable linen.
Slightly older fittings but not really a drawback as good value and everything else worked well.
Room clean and warm, Bathroom perfectly clean as well, very enjoyable.
Smell of smoke outside the appartment, in corridor, but the room was just fine.
New room which are already finish "REFECTION :reniewed " Modern furniture. Simpa Youth Simpel and not expensive. Access to transport busses Tram WALK. Room telefon - WiFI Kichen+ micro-wave iron fridge
I wonder who is a working dag, the street migt be busy ... nosy ? It seems not dangerous to go out when you like. Day & Nigth.
the location and the small kitchen in the room was great
tv was making terrible noise
