The quality that you may expect in Switzerland during this season at this price level: good, nothing more and nothing less. What was not stated at the booking.com website is that the hotel charges your credit card in advance and that it is not possible on arrival to pay your stay cash. Also the website gives you the option to choose for a one bedroom apartment with one double or two single beds even when in reality there are no more vacancies in one of these two categories.

Leysin is gorgeous and although at first glance from the outside Residence du Chamossaire doesn't look like much, the rooms were very nice and comfortable!

Value for money. It is a nice department. It would be better if it had free internet. Also if it had a phone.

The view on the mountain range is absolutely gorgeous, amzing, and quite enjoyable. When the weather is nice, we can eat breakfast on the terrace, and it's really an asset for a stay (and we find the stay too short, definitely!). The tv provides Swiss and international channels in German, Italian, French, apparently also in Spanish and English. The 'homeland' (I.E. European German, French and Italian, or Swiss channels for the guests coming from those countries) is nice in case of bad weather, or just for news, but the local channels are also an asset (even for those who don't speak the language) for the weather forecasts, much needed in the mountains. The staff is very friendly and accomodating, and the city in the mountains has a train going to Aigle where it's easy to take any train to any city around the Leman (Geneva -a bit far-, Montreux, Vevey, all very close). I hesitated between the Chamossaire and an hotel in Montreux, so as to visit Chillon Castle and the famous 'Rochers de Naye', plus various excursions on the train 'Golden Pass Line'. Very glad I chose there: quieter and more appreciable than Montreux, the view is unbeatable, and I wish we can come back here.(NB One of the Leysin train stations is quite close about 5 to 10 minutes away by walk) Sad, permanent regret, only wifi for guests traveling with their own pc, not even one old tabletop computer for guest use in the lobby, sad for comparable hotels of the same category in Belgium, the uk or the us, but seems to be the norm in Switzerland (and Italy). A pity, for in a 'longer' trip from town to town, limiting the lugggage amount comes with not taking a computer along, therefore, no internet for weeks, and a very poor flexibility in planning some excursions. (I had to ask someone on the street to 'borrow' his wi-fi connection so as to plan visits for a day, with schedules, addressess of places to see and so on) I was ill- prepared for plugs and adapters (Switzerland doesn't use the same as the rest of Europe...the reception being closed at night, I had to wait for morning, and delay my departure for day of visit, otherwise I wouldn't have had a camera battery at all: adapters (for the forgetful ones who didn't buy one beforehand) should be provided in the rooms, not only by the reception)

The apartment was very nice and good value for Switzerland. Good views from the window. Modern and well equipped. In good working order. Although the reception was closed on Sundays they left us information and discount vouchers and a personal welcome note. The town was very friendly and had a great swimming pool and the trip up the local cable car was fab. We had a great stay. The apartment building was looking in a bit shabby externally in the summer sun and could do with a facelift. Our first impression on arriving was of graffiti and boarded up windows in neighbouring buildings. The wifi access is expensive and not available in the appartments - you have to be in reception to get it.

It was in a beautiful location and a good value for the money. The accomodations were clean and in good shape. The room was very comfortable and large enough for our family of 5. The balcony had a great view of the mountains. The staff was very accomodating. We have no complaints about the resort, but if you choose this spot for visiting Montreux please be aware that while it says it is only 7 miles away (12 km) which is true, the drive takes actually about 45 to 50 minutes and is long/curvey going up a mountain. So, a beautiful place but not ideal (in our opinion) for daily or twice daily drives to Lake Geneva/Montreux area. Leysin is close in mileage but actually quite isolated from Montreux/Vevey and the Lake Geneva area. Perfect if that's what you are looking for!

The person at the front desk was helpful in providing local information. The rooms smelled like smoke. You could feel the coil springs through the very thin mattresses on the beds. Less importantly, I would have appreciated having coffee filters, paper towels or napkins, as staples in the kitchen.
