Coffee at breakfast
Room was pokey, bed as hard as a rock, no curtains despite overlooking a block of flats and the bathroom came straight out of a B grade horror movie.
Peaceful and spacious room.
Everything else...dirty bathroom, poor amenities, over priced etc.
This is a great place to stay in a small apartment type setting. No breakfast but you are basically living as if you were a local resident. I think it is fantastic. If you are naughty get the shuttle to the nearby Starling hotel then it is a three minute walk up the hill. Restaurant is good. I think it is better than the restaurant next door but you can try that as well for variety. Buses outside will whisk you to the city free. (If you make sure to ask for your free Geneva transport card). In the city if you like steak and frites there is the cafe de Paris at the top of ruote de Mont Blanc. In the old city over the river at Place du Bourges du Four near the cathedral plenty of nice places too eat from expensive down to budget at Chez ma cousine. (Very good)
I like it a lot but this type of accomodation does not suit those who want the full service hotel experience. - But for that you will pay a lot. If that is what you want go to the Starling or similar place.
Residence du Grand Saconnex is in what was once a separate village but has now been engulfed by Geneva. It retains a village feel, particularly because the 'residence' is linked to the auberge next door which has an atmosphere of its own and very friendly staff. It is brilliantly located for anyone working at the Palais des Nations being on the bus routes from the airport to the Palais. But, because Geneva is so small, it would be a practical option for tourists. Another advantage for longer-term visitors is the small, rather poorly equipped but usable kitchen.
Room was serviced only every few days. Lighting and equipment rather poor.
Feeling as home - separate entry, safety, space of the studio, trees through the window. Overall, good experience and value for money.
Slightly slow Internet at evenings, no wishing liquid for dishes.
Very convenient location for buses to airport, and all over the city. Friendly staff at the restaurant. which was quite good. Kitchen equipment was adequate. Sunny room. Quiet location.
Cleaning was not done everyday, and some things were missed. Wifi was spotty. No laundry facility nearby, and very expensive to do it through the cleaning crew. A little bit out of the way from the city center.
Location near Palexpo Size of Studio
Noise from main road Bad smell in room Old Furniture
close to airport, nice staff, good restaurant. Palexpo very, very close. I liked this hotel. Excellent value for money
- localization - close to Palexpo congress centre
- no staff (actually one lady bussy with the restaurant) - the suite was quite big but with badly smeling bathroom - th WI-FI not working
Auberge downstairs, good food.
Couldn't connect to Wifi in my room.
Reasonably close to my friend's home in Grand Saconnex. There was really NOTHING I could actually like about this dingy accommodation. ......except perhaps the fact that the watet/shower pressure was good!
My headline captures the feeling of the place. It was also stuffy and noisey : my room (No.1) was practically ON the route de Ferney, giving the impression that buses and trucks were actually passing THROUGH the room!
rooms r good for 2 ppl, value for money, only clearify if studios are with kitchen facility or not. near from airport.
reception staff dont know english bt they will try to help u as much thy can.
Near the airport, busstop in front of the hotel. Takes you 5-10 minutes to get there.
There was a very strong, unpleasant smell in the room. Central door to the rooms was not closed at night. Unpleasant, because the entrance was approachable by stairs, next to a public road.
Easy access to airport on No 5 Bus to pick up leased Peugeot.
No lift but we were given help with bags.
Everything was fine - bus station is in front of the hotel, room is big and clean. Restaurant has excellent food. I would definitely book it again. The only problem is small number of rooms , so booking has to be way in advance.
Location: arrived late, so great to be so close to the airport. There is also a handy, regular bus service just outside hotel to go into the city. Self catering room with kettle- very good value for money.
There was no curtain at my window, so the light shone in and woke me up very early!
The room we had on the first day was not clean, the bed uncomfortable, the fridge in the room was noisy and came on with loud noise every thirty minutes. The room (no 8) was on the road side and very noisy, could not go to sleep until 4.30 am. We were shifted to a "suit" on the top floor,at the back, less noisy and cleaner but had two windows without curtains. As it is a loft conversion could not use the shower without sitting in the bath. Using the restaurant as a reception is not desirable as the restaurant does not open before 9:00 am. I will never return to this place even if this in the only place available.
Slow internet Room not serviced daily
Nicely located in a quite neighbourhood only 5 stops away from the UN. The hotel comes with its own restaurant and the food is good.
Wifi is not working properly most of the time. The staff does not speak English, only French. The communication has to be via an interpreter over the phone.
Very friendly. Was flexible on check-in& Check out. Shops near by and close to city and Airport.
location and the restaurant meal was very good
a bit old and shabby in the room but more or less typical of an old style swiss auberge.
