Score from 1280 reviews Good
location, connectivity by public transport, comfort, cleanliness, privacy
fixed check-in time
I liked the cleanliness, spaciousness, sufficient kitchen to make a meal or a drink, grocery store nearby, bus to the centre of town and to the airport right outside the hotel, accommodating staff in the restaurant, could use their PC and to print my boarding pass.
The only disadvantage was that my room was facing a very busy avenue, so it only got quieter after 11 p. m. But at the weekend it was much less busy. A pair of ear plugs for those more sensitive to noise.
Good as near airport and with kitchen so one can cook with nice area and free poplic transport facilities
Just far from city center and no reception but is good for one who have airplane to caught
Plenty of spce in the room. Nice staff in restaurant below.
accomodation a little tired and needs reefreshing/decorating and a deep clean
L'emplacement de la chamber surtout
small hotel and excellent meat at the restaurant
not clean room and not very comfortable
Super close to airport (5 mins by bus), super friendly and helpful staff, easy to get downtown by bus, rooms spacious for the price, large and comfortable bed
Room appeared a bit dirty, was a fly in the room when I entered, TV didn't work, showerhead did not attach to wall, wifi slow
No probs good for quick travelers like me
The manager and the café.
The bumpy matrass.
The location close to the busstation and the free ticket makes it easy to go everywhere. Big room and a full scale kitchen included, if you don't want to eat at the restaurant.
Cleaning and condition of the room could be better, the first night the window couldn't lock propperly and the wind was blowing in. It was fixed next day after i talked to the reception, so they take care and are very freindly.
very poor wifi connection
-Large rooms for this category of hotel -Good location mid-way between airport and railway -Well equipped room for this category (mini-fridge, plates, bowls). -Very clean -Nice restaurant -Overall incredible value for money
Nothing that I really did not like, but a couple of issues: close to a main road, a bit noisy from 7AM. Good on business trip, less for holidays A bit difficult from downtown after 11PM (few buses)
Convenient: bus station just in the front of the hotel and close to the UN palace and the centre of city. Room cleanliness Excellent internet connectivity. Value for money
No reception desk: it is difficult for first arriving guest to contact the hotel. (When you get in the room you can call receptionist, but it is not ideal for a typical business operation. No breakfast included in the package.
Again at this residence which is a restaurant with some additional rooms and small suites. This is basic but very comfortable accommodation a short distance from the airport. If you want to be a bit naughty take the shuttle bus to the Starling hotel. Linger a few minutes at the foyer of that nice but very expensive hotel. Then exit the front entrance and turn left and walk up the hill for foir to five minutes and you reach the main road into Geneva. The location is right by the bus stop. As you check in be sure to ask for your Geneva travel card as they don't always remember to give you this free item. Want to go to town? Take one of the several buses to Gare Cornavin or further to the south side of the lake. You can dine in the excellent restaurant. Or travel into town. There is a cash machine a few steps on from the bus stop in the direction of the town. Wi fi is good. Breakfast is not included but some days the restaurant opens early for breakfasts. You need to speak a very little French as most staff do not speak much English but it is never a problem. At night the stairs to the upper rooms are steep but the light switch to rooms seven and above is to the right high up above the stair rail. It is a great place to stay and feel more a member of the local community. If you stay a few days you save so much money you can always treat yourself to a last night at the Starling and enjoy the facilities there including the fantastic swimming pool.
No criticism at all. Of course it is basic accommodation but the value is fantastic for this expensive city
Easy access to the city's nod airport, Good internet connection, Independence from the reception, Soap and shampoos on the arrival, Warm room.
The room smelled of cigarettes, Leaking kettle so I had to wipe a table after boiling it or leave it in the sink, Freezer door would open each time together with the fridge door and it was selotaped. Very short window curtains and considering that window faces the high road it was uncomfortable that people from the street can overlook into the room. Broken wardrobe, TV controller didn't work and there was nothing done about it through out my 5 day stay, Uncomfortable pillows. Smelly bathroom.
One electric power socket bare at wall- potentially dangerous Only local TV stationspo
location, proximity to bus stop, size of the room, kitchen, absence of disturbance
Bedroom window hard to close, close to the road, a bit noisy at times (traffic)
Coffee at breakfast
Room was pokey, bed as hard as a rock, no curtains despite overlooking a block of flats and the bathroom came straight out of a B grade horror movie.
Peaceful and spacious room.
Everything else...dirty bathroom, poor amenities, over priced etc.
This is a great place to stay in a small apartment type setting. No breakfast but you are basically living as if you were a local resident. I think it is fantastic. If you are naughty get the shuttle to the nearby Starling hotel then it is a three minute walk up the hill. Restaurant is good. I think it is better than the restaurant next door but you can try that as well for variety. Buses outside will whisk you to the city free. (If you make sure to ask for your free Geneva transport card). In the city if you like steak and frites there is the cafe de Paris at the top of ruote de Mont Blanc. In the old city over the river at Place du Bourges du Four near the cathedral plenty of nice places too eat from expensive down to budget at Chez ma cousine. (Very good)
I like it a lot but this type of accomodation does not suit those who want the full service hotel experience. - But for that you will pay a lot. If that is what you want go to the Starling or similar place.
Residence du Grand Saconnex is in what was once a separate village but has now been engulfed by Geneva. It retains a village feel, particularly because the 'residence' is linked to the auberge next door which has an atmosphere of its own and very friendly staff. It is brilliantly located for anyone working at the Palais des Nations being on the bus routes from the airport to the Palais. But, because Geneva is so small, it would be a practical option for tourists. Another advantage for longer-term visitors is the small, rather poorly equipped but usable kitchen.
Room was serviced only every few days. Lighting and equipment rather poor.
Feeling as home - separate entry, safety, space of the studio, trees through the window. Overall, good experience and value for money.
Slightly slow Internet at evenings, no wishing liquid for dishes.
Very convenient location for buses to airport, and all over the city. Friendly staff at the restaurant. which was quite good. Kitchen equipment was adequate. Sunny room. Quiet location.
Cleaning was not done everyday, and some things were missed. Wifi was spotty. No laundry facility nearby, and very expensive to do it through the cleaning crew. A little bit out of the way from the city center.
