It is very practically located when coming back by ski on slope 22 (First side). The Hotel Manager is excellent and was very helpful. Great value for money - in comparison to other Swiss hotels
familiar, uncomplicated staff Location is in the old town centre Kitchen in every appartment
a bit far away from Männlichen for skiing - bus works perfect
Value for money. Friendly and helpful staff
Bathroom clean but a little dated.
The view and breakfast were outstanding, beds were comfortable. Nice to have the teapot in the room as well. Staff was helpful at checkin.
Thes restaurant was not open, so we had to either drive or walk about 10-15 minutes up and down hills to get to restaurants and shopping. the train station was another 5-10 minute walk. There was no staff at the hotel at night, only a number to call in an emergency.
Location and access was just right for us being on the edge of of town all shops, buses, trails and cable cars are in easy walking distance. We especially liked the Hotel pass giving up to 50% discount on lifts and free bus travel, for surrounding area. The view from the hotel was magnificent, but make sure you book a front facing room. In all we had a wonderful stay and will hopefully be returning with our grandsons to go skying next year, because the facilities and location are very good.
Not much, in fact nothing comes to mind worth saying.
Nature, nature, nature. Buy some alpkase before you leave.
Hotel employees' attitude was not that kind. Too expensive. We were given a rear room which had no mountain view at all.
The view, the location and the staff
Inexpensive for Grindelwald, fantastic views. Ample free parking.
There was a heatwave, would have liked an air conditioned room but then we should have picked a more expensive place.
Great location and good value for money.
Reception was unoccupied on arrival and we had to leave our luggage in a room with no lock.
Hotel Residence is tucked in a quiet corner just off the main street. That means it's close enough to the shops but distant enough so that you can enjoy quiet moments. Our hotel manager was Brigitte who was a darling of a soul. She gave us lovely rooms that faced the hill so we had plenty of greenery. The hotel, from the outside, gave no clue to the modernity of the rooms inside. We loved it! The toilet seemed fairly new and modern, so in cold weather, it's nice to be able to get a strong hot shower. The room itself was charming - simple but classy, with dark wooden furniture and a large, glamorous wardrobe. The beds were comfortable and pillows were fluffy. We had a good spread for breakfast and that was when my friendship with Brigitte began - over a cup of white tea. Lovely person, she's the ideal hotel manager who can help guests with local tips on where to go and what to do. From our table, we had unbroken views of the Eiger... and sitting by the window, with a cup of white tea, croissant in hand, gazing a the Eiger, what more can you ask for, from a hotel? Top marks for everything!
Friendly, comfortable and clean
The room was clean and the size was ok. Every day we got new tea and coffee. The breakfast was good. Sometimes you had to wait a little for scrumbled eggs but if you asked fro them you got them.
The ski room was not locked. Well, the price was quite high but that is kind of normal for Switzerland over new year. So either you want to go skiing at that time or you want to save money. Your choice. We decided that we wanted to go skiing.
great hotel in a good location, loads of car parking space, modern style, excellent wifi
