I was extremely pleased with Riederfurka. This was my first time in Europe, and I was worried about a language barrier. However, all the staff were fluent in English, and quite helpful. The rooms were clean, warm, quiet, and cozy. There are stunning views all around. I spent four days hiking and snowshoeing around Riederfurka and could not have asked for a better hotel.

Riederfurka can only be reached by cable car from Morel (accessible by train). The Mountain-Resort Riederfurka is then another 30 minute walk uphill from the cable car station. It is located up on top of a mountain with amazing views both to the north and the south. The rooms are amazingly clean. It's quiet up here and you can see the stars. Many hikes start at the front door to this mountain lodge. The food is great and the staff is very helpful. Though there are shared bathrooms, there is a sink inside each room as well which is very helpful. It was a bit of a walk with luggage up to the mountain lodge, but we were prepared for it. At the time we were here there was a lot of construction going on outside which only made the view a little disappointing. Other than that, we loved it here.

It is an incredibly beautiful location, very comfortable place to stay with wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. Internet works but is a bit touchy just because of the remote location. The staff was very helpful nonetheless and I did get messages to go through with some patience.

L'emplacement de ce grand chalet, rustique mais confortable, hors du temps, la cuisine, fraiche et d'excellente qualité, les chemins pour raquettes surplombant le glacier d'Aletsch, magique, l'accueil chaleureux et enjoué, la sélection de vins du restaurant, le fait d'être à 30 minutes de marche de toute "civilisation" :) Rien, tout était très bien.

L accueil parfait, service et gentillesse des responsables. La literie un peu tendre, accès à pied depuis les remontées mécanique. Mais c est plus une ambiance refuge quatre étoiles donc! ?...

Wir wählten das Mountain-Resort Riederfurka als Übernachtungsmöglichkeit für unsere zweitägige Bergtour. Die Zimmer sind einfach und zweckmässig eingerichtet. Duschen und Toiletten werden mit den anderen Hotelgästen geteilt. Die Mitarbeiterinnen des Mountain-Resort Riederfurka waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen haben wir ebenfalls genossen. Wir fühlten uns wohl und konnten nach der Wanderung gut ausspannen. Das Mountain-Resort Riederfurka ist bodenständig und gut, ideal für Wanderer.

We highly recommend this mountain resort. Staying here is a much more interesting experience than staying in a traditional hotel down in a village. The location is amazing, perched on top of a ridge close to the glacier and with endless walking and skiing directly out the door. The hotel itself is very comfortable and full of character. The food served for dinner was absolutely lovely and delicious. I do not think you could find such nice food, for such a low price, anywhere else in the valais. And the hosts at the hotel were fabulous - very nice, thoughtful, interesting people to spend a few days with. They made us feel right at home there in the mountains. In summary, we highly recommend this place to stay if you want a unique, memorable visit to the mountains. We hope to return.

Sa situation exceptionnelle au point de départ du sentier de randonnée le plus beau (Moränenweg) de long du glacier d'Aletsch Les douches et wc situés à l'étage d'en dessous ce qui nécessite des déplacement (bruyants car les anciennes planches en bois grincent) d'un étage à l'autre au milieu de la nuit.

Einfache , saubere Unterkunft mit interessanter Geschichte. Wunderschöne Lage. Aufgestelltes und sehr freundliches Personal. Ausgezeichnetes Essen in grosszügiger Menge. Leider hat das Wandergebiet durch die grosse Popularität viel an Beschaulichkeit und Ruhe verloren. An schönen Tagen sind 'Völkerwanderungen'. unterwegs.
