Very well located beside the river in the heart of lucerne with the shops a short walk from one exit and the river and famous wooden bridge a short walk from the other exit. Many thanks to hotel schiff for the free upgrade to a river view. The river view rooms you can also see the famous bridge and on a clear day which we had Mount Pilatus. Also thank you for supplying the room with a kettle.

Excellent location on the lake. Large, warm, comfortable room. Excellent view from window. Good breakfast. Tea making facilities in room. Friendly staff.. squeezy elevator.

The room is clean and nice to live, and I had a river view room. But sadly I went there only in the evening when it is fully dark, and I had to leave early next morning. I feel like the river view room is not that important, because in Luzern probably you won't stay in the hotel unless sleeping. The hotel is very close to the train station. It takes about 5 min walk only. The hotel staff is nice and polite. The hotel is not that easy to find at the beginning, I would expect a bigger entrance. The hotel building and elevator are very old. I was looking for a PC to access Internet, because I didn't have my laptop with me. But there isn't in this hotel.

The location was perfect. We got off the train and were exhausted and walked roughly 5 minutes or less to the hotel. The staff was so genuinely nice and the restaurant had great food. The outdoor restaurant was so beautiful and inviting, bring right on the water was beautiful. The layout of the room was a little tight, the bed sort of cut the room in half and there was no view at all just a brick wall, but the room was clean and comfortable and we barely were there unless to sleep so it was fine !

Hotel staff was very good. Excellent location. Only concern about the hotel is lack of adequate exit options on upper flloors in case of fire, especially since a restaurant exists on bottom level.

The hotel staff was very helpful and went out of their way to help me. They kindly provided a quick city guide and answered any questions I had. The room had an amazing view and the bathroom was very clean. I never figured out how/where to use the Internet, but I was too busy to do so anyway.

The location is great--overlooking the river in Old Town, near the Chapel Bridge. The continental breakfast was good; sufficient for our needs. We stayed 3 nights; we requested and received a room change after the first night to a room overlooking the river (at a higher rate, of course). The staff is friendly and helpful and spoke English very well. The hotel has no lobby, just a small office area for the staff. Wi-fi, though free, would not work in room; thus, I sat in the hotel's restaurant to check email.
