Ideally located in central Vitznau, the Rigi hotel offers completely renovated standard rooms and spacious superior rooms in the annex. It can be found right next to the station of Europe's first cog train and about 55 yards from the pier on Lake Lucerne. Wi-Fi is available free of charge in the Rigi hotel. Seasonal cuisine is served in the cozy restaurant or on the terrace with its Mediterranean atmosphere. Bicycles are offered free of charge to explore the scenic natural surroundings. It is located next to the Rigi Bahn terminal. The hotel is fine but the Rigi Bahn had no dampflocomotives (steam engines).

The staff at the hotel were exceptionally friendly. We were even given an upgrade to the lakeview suite. The food at the restaurant was superb, although a little pricey. Proximity to boat dock (transport to Lucern) and Rigi cog-train makes this hotel a perfect place to stay on Lake Lucern. After seeing Lucern, we were glad we did not decide to spend a lot more money and stay in the city. The countryside is much more mellow, prettier, and more economical (relatively). I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel owners were very helpful and friendly and speak English well for the convenience of English-speaking guests. Our room had a small balcony which made our small room seem bigger and we enjoyed the view to the lake. Also, the breakfast is excellent, as well as the selections we made for dinner. The compter for use by hotel guests was not working and the Internet service for personal computers was slow.

The Location was superb, being a stone's throw from the boat station and right by the mountain railway up to the top of Mount Rigi where even on a cloudy day the views are awesome. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room we had (in the annexe) was spacious and comfortable with a balcony which allowed views of the lake. Breakfast was a continental buffet style and the food and choice good. Only thing missing from the room was tea and coffee making facilities which was a shame because in every other way it was excellent.

The manager was friendly, welcoming and spoke English which was reassuring after battling through Europe. The breakfast came included in the room rate and was one of the best we had in Europe. The bread was so fresh every morning, with a great choice of foods including fruit salad. Free internet with a computer was available to us. The view from our room of the moutains, harbour and little town at night with the lights in the distance was breath-taking. The hotel was so easy to find, just get off the steam boat and look up the hill and there it is - no trouble negotiating maps and roads. I loved this hotel and would go back. The only problem is transport to and from Lucerne city. With the Eurail card we were able to get free transport on the steam boat which is an hour trip but such a beautiful view of the surrounding area and mountains every time that you hardly notice the time passing. Without the Eurail pass, travellors would have to pay for transport to and from Hotel Rigi from Lucerne.

The family who owns the hotel are very cool and takes there time to talk with clients..help and inform you with everything they can..flexible and the food we had there was the most delicious I had ever in swiss german side..bravo

Beautiful location and view. Easy access to Mount Rigi train and Lake Lucerne boat line to the city. Cute and scenic small village setting. Hotel was nice, clean, comfortable and friendly family run hotel. Enjoyed use of the complementary bikes and breakfast.

The location near the train station for going up the Rigi is fantastic. Walking / hiking on the Rigi is very nice - there are easy paths but also more difficult ones so any type of hike is possible. The staff is very friendly and provide great service. The food at hotel Rigi is fabulous - no need to go to another restaurant. The room is nicely renovated and has everything you need, albeit a bit small. The floor of the room we stayed in slanted a bit which means that the bed is not leveled, which reduces the comfort of the otherwise very nice beds a bit. The village of Vitznau itself does not have much entertainment - but if you come for peace and quiet it's a great place!

Ich habe mich im Hotel Rigi sehr sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Grosse Auswahl. Ich konnte mich fast nicht entscheiden. Das Frühstück hatte auch sehr grosse Auswahl und schmeckte sehr lecker. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und gemütlich und ich hatte sogar Seeblick. Man ist in einer Minute am See. Ich würde dieses Hotel sofort wieder buchen. Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt aber leider zu kurz. Gibt es nichts Preis/Leistung stimmt genau.
